My husband is out evacuating Falling Creek residents right now.....won't be sleeping much tonight. We live in Powhatan which thankfully was spared alot of the rain, but Richmond and Chesterfield are a mess.

I live in the general vicinity of Brandermill. Traveling home down Woodpecker Rd. today I had a car stall out in the water right in front of me. When I got out to help the lady move her car over, the water actually knocked me down and almost swept me down the road. Freaked me out big time!

Chesterfield County is going to be a mess tomorrow...

Was out that way a month ago. You could smell the humidity from the ground. Like a rain forest. Rain, rain, and more rain. God bless and keep the citizens of that fine state safe.

You're right. I spoke without checking. It's actually moving at a pretty good clip.

Thanks for the info.

I can imagine what y'all are going through, having lived through Hurricane Floyd here in Rocky Mount, NC.

Stay safe.

Wow, Charles. Stay safe and God Bless.

Your experience would freak anyone out and says much about the intensity of this.

I live just west of 195 and two neighbors report two to three feet of water in their basements. My B-Dry system backed up for about 1 and 3/4 hours, but I am winning the battle and the floor is almost dry. Downtown is called Shokoe (pebble) Bottom and was hit very hard; some folks are still trapped down there. Finally, a Dam south of town is on the verge of giving way. Big night here in River City.

God Bless your husband and those he is working with.

The skies have really openned up here on the Eastern Shore within the past 20 minutes or so.

Up here in Northern Virginia and began praying for you all hours ago when we saw the radar report and that thing barreling up 95 right at us.

I am so sorry. Love much of Richmond...especially along the rivers and on to Charlottesville.

Already praying that Francis will be stopped before attempting the same kind of trajectory in the next few days.
