I'm told that now coming across the newswires is a new column from Bob Novak that contains extensive quotes from Retired Rear Adm. William L. Schachte Jr.
Schachte, call-sign "Batman," has broken his press silence to insist that he was indeed aboard the Boston Whaler or "skimmer" in the early morning mission on December 2, 1968, out of which Sen. John Kerry's first Purple Heart was awarded. Schachte maintains that Kerry's minor arm wound was not sustained while under enemy fire, but was indeed the result of Kerry code-named "Robin" on this mission being careless in firing an M-79 grenade launcher. Other officers are quoted to support the likelihood of Schachte's presence.
I'll update this post when I can find the full Novak column online.

For those who know what you meant - LOL!
O'Neill's personal politics don't concern me one bit. Swift Boat Veterans just want to make sure that Kerry doesn't get to be Commander in Chief. That's what this whole thing is about. Kerry is UNFIT FOR COMMAND.
Thanks for the wonderful thoughts. I would love to see that wall. I deeply appreciate what all veterans have gone through to bring peace not only to our nation but to the world. Love, Mxxx
Of course not. He was at most a full Lieutenant.
I have reviewed my postings and no where do I see that I stated or otherwise indicated RADM Schachte, USN, (Ret) was a RADM at the time. What have I misssed?
That was a long time ago, but I seem to recall
my reply was intended for someone else.... sorry.
