Poll Shows Kerry Hurt By Attacks (LA TIMES POLL Bush 49% Kerry 46%)
Political Wire ^ | August 25, 2004

Posted on 08/25/2004 7:14:55 PM PDT by RWR8189

Political Wire got an advance look at the new Los Angeles Times poll showing President Bush "moving slightly" ahead of Sen. John Kerry "for the first time this year." Bush had the support of 49% of registered voters, compared to 46% for Kerry.

The newspaper's analysis indicates Kerry "has been nicked by attacks on his service in Vietnam."

The "small shift" from last month's poll "is within the poll's margin of error. But it fits with other findings in the Times Poll showing the electorate edging toward Bush over the past month on a broad range of measures, from support for his handling of Iraq to confidence in his leadership and honesty."

Independent voters split evenly, but Bush's "tentative new advantage" seems to be "his greater success at onsolidating his base. While just 3% of voters who call themselves Republicans say they will vote for Kerry, Bush is drawing 15% just over one-seventh of all Democrats, and fully one-fifth 20% of Democrats who consider themselves moderate or conservative, the poll found."

No, he was talking about two
distinct places & time periods;
he has detailed that. And he told
Nixon immediately he meant border
vicinity, not in Cambodia. You
fell for the lying spin, unless
YOU are a spinner, too.

-media raising polls - have you seen this happen before?

You are joking, right? Try Al Gore's convention bump after he tongued his wife, for one. The media kept Gore close to Bush in the polls no matter how bad Gore was losing. Then, they exaggerated the effect on Bush's DUI on the electorate.

Gosh...I goof up spelling a lot, and maybe your reminder to the poster about "hugh" will help.

But maybe there is a reason for the misspelling of "hugh".
Maybe he has a sister who was bitten by a .....

.....nah....maybe not...

Poll result just reported on MSNBC. But (see my previous post) this was already evident from prior data.

Our only foe of substance was the RATmedia, Kerry is irrelevent. But the Swifties have shattered the Advance Guard and the RATs are on the retreat.

The point dude, is that Bush has actually never been losing to Kerry nationally in any poll done on likely voters. The media just doesn't report it.

I'd like to see that polling data, but the complete results are not available. The LA Times doesn't like people finding out they "stacked" the deck...

It is called P-A-N-I-C. Even though the poll is bogus, the Kerry camp wants to draw attention away from the GOP Convention and put their own spin on it.

I dunno Rokke, they are starting to poll the center of the Demo's, just too much luggage. This guy is toast, the Reps still have a gain coming from the convention and Kerry's mouth will do the rest.

The Swift Boat vets, spending a fraction of Soros's largess, are chipping away at the foundation of Kerry's 'warrior image' with devastating effectiveness.

Soros will only back the Kerry horse if he thinks there's a chance he may win ... I suspect very soon Soros will be bailing out on Kerry and stop throwing good money after bad.

Like several other Freepers, I still main that Bush will take 58 percent of the popular vote in November.
