No so 'science fiction' under a Kerry Presidency.

By Eric Boehlert Aug. 19, 2004 | The Kerry campaign has told Salon that the publisher of "Unfit for Command," the book that is at the center of the attack on Kerry's military record by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, is retailing a hoax and should consider withdrawing it from bookstores. "No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran," said Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton. "If I were them, I'd be ducking under my desk wondering what to do. This is a serious problem." Even some uncomfortable Republicans might breathe a sigh a relief if "Unfit for Command" were to vanish from bookstores: "I don't think the Swift Boat Veterans are helping the Republican cause," Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., remarked on CNN Thursday.

Part of Salon article... need to be a subscriber' to see all of it.

I'd go with ebay---if I could afford a hardcover book right now! :( At least with ebay you can get a straight answer from a seller about the book's availability: "I'm looking at it now," or not.

I have a Borders credit card. It will be cut up and mailed to them if this is true.

Paging Mr. Bradbury...

Great idea. Bradbury is really ticked off at Michael Moron for ripping off his book title without permission. Maybe the SBVfT can get permission from Bradbury to use Fahrenheit 451, the temperature at which books burn, somewhere on their book cover in one of its reprints. The irony would be rich.

Wow! I just can't believe this. Asking a puyblisher to withdraw a book .....

I wonder how all this will play out besides uniting the right.

If anyone connected with the Kerry campaign has seriously tried to get the book pulled off the shelves, and it can be proven, Kerry is toast now. He'll be off the ticket by Labor Day and Hillary will be riding to the rescue as fast as her thundering herd can get her on a white horse.

Right, and Clinton was going to be kicked out for lying under oath.

'No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them,...'

The same could and SHOULD be said for Michael Moore's movie: "No producer should want to be selling movies with proven falsehoods in them...!"

Democrats/DNC = HYPOCRITS to the core!!!!
