bad about him, even though

The man shrugged, a little
embarrassed.
Socrates continued.
"You may still pass the test though,
because there is a third filter -
the filter of Usefulness.
Is what you want to tell
me about my student going to be
useful to me?"
"No, not really"
"Well," concluded Socrates,
"if what you want to tell me
is neither True or Good
nor even Useful,
why tell it to me at all?"
The man was defeated and
ashamed.
This is the reason Socrates was a great
philosopher and held in such high esteem.
It also explains why he never found
out that Plato was banging his wife

you do not have to make it to become President and First
Lady of the United States. Of course, I feel for you
being 65; I'm 58 and knowing how I feel, I know how tired
you MUST be. HOW in the world do you think it is going to
be having to hobnob with us little people intermittently
for four long years, until you are 69? John Boy didn't
think of your age (nor his really) when he set out to
make history. Now he is only making histrionics.
