The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

On my new Sig Sauer handgun? Be kinda tough to conceal and tough to draw with any degree of speed or smoothness. I dunno about that one. :~)

Much agree.

And, I suspect they've told him more than once what lines he can't cross and continue in this time/space dimension.

New Tapes, New Possible Terror, Las Vegas Connection
Scott Burton
Posted: Aug. 12, 2004

The announcement came just a few hours ago Thursday from the FBI, Metro, and the governor. The tapes were found last month during the arrest of a Pakistani man named Kamryn Akhtar Shaik. He was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina just a couple weeks ago after he was seen videotaping sky scrapers there. The feds raided his New York apartment, they found videos of Las Vegas.

They look like another video found in a prior case from Detroit that shows video of various casinos on the Strip. So far investigators have only scrolled through these new tapes. They are now in the process of translating them and analyzing them for threats. The feds said they were made in 2003 and 2004 and one tape is entirely Las Vegas.

The FBI said there remains no credible threat made specifically to our Valley. Although there were other people are seen in these videos with Akhtar Sheik; their wherabouts and identities right now remain unknown.

Charlotte-Area Muslims Concerned About Reaction To Videotaping Arrest
POSTED: 6:19 pm EDT August 12, 2004

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-area Muslims are concerned that the arrest of a Pakistani native seen videotaping the city's skyscrapers -- and how officials reacted -- could turn all Muslims into suspects.

"Everything we hear makes our community cringe," said Mohammad Ismail, a Charlotte architect and Palestinian-American. "This is our community also, and we don't like to be perceived as targets of people to be on the lookout against us. I think our (city) leadership did not really pay attention to the possibility of a backlash."

Some Muslims said they worry that Mayor Pat McCrory's warning to residents to watch out for people wearing layers of clothing in hot weather could target those in traditional Islamic clothing. About 8,000 Muslims live in the Charlotte area.

"This country is dropping into a state of paranoia," said Hassan Safvi, 54, a Pakistani native who is a mechanical engineer for the state Department of Correction in Raleigh. "There is a fear in the back of everybody's mind who is from the Middle East that you are a suspect just because of what you look like."

Ok, I'll play.

What did the terrorists who blew up the marine barracks look like?

What did the terrorists who bombed the WTC look like?

What did the terrorists who blew up the embassies and the USS Cole look like?

What did the terrorists who hijacked four aircraft on September 11th, 2001 look like?

What did every successful hijacker worldwide in the last 30 plus years look like?

That's not paranoia, that's common sense. It's not profiling, it's simple IFF.

Bingo HipShot. Think it would help if we sent Hassan Safvi and all his co-horts some "no whining" buttons?

You see how the .30 Carbine cartridge is so maligned (e.g., Chosin Reservoir), yet it has greater energy than the .357 Magnum (The .30 has ~971 ft/lbs at the muzzle, while the .357 has ~650, both FMJ's).

We go with the 3.5" S&W stainless Model 6X .357, a Springfield stainless 1911 .45, and a Rem. 870/Wilson/Scattergun for peacetime home defense; but I roll with a Beretta 92FS, "old" mags, with Crimson Trace set at 7.5 yards, so I'm not advocating for the .30 Carbine.

I'm thinking about timing of any terrorist rampages, and I think that we won't have time to return to our homes or places of secretion and retreive our defensive tools.

Thus the terrorists will be faced with only the weapons which good Americans have "on hand," and they know it. Mostly just pistols, though many of us can handle a pistol. So it might be a good idea to have an inexpensive .30 Carbine in the trunk, with some appropriate magazines, in order to assist the LEO's if an attack takes place.

Something has really bugging me today, and it's "out there" so I hesitate to post it, but wanted to throw it out there for any thoughts you may have. I've been trying to gather information on this for several hours today, got away from the idea, but it keeps coming back to me.

Tomorrow, President Bush is going to be in Portland. His father coined the name "Little Beirut" for Portland years ago when protesters threw broccoli and assorted other goodies at his car.

Also, tomorrow is Friday the 13th. The Muslims don't look at that day ominously as it is traditionally viewed in America. I've been trying to find information about this, and found the following:

To the ancient Egyptians, life was a quest for spiritual ascension which unfolded in stages - 12 in this life and a 13th beyond, thought to be the eternal afterlife. The number 13 therefore symbolized death - not in terms of dust and decay, but as a glorious and desirable transformation. Though Egyptian civilization perished, the death-symbolism they conferred on the number 13 survived, only to be corrupted by later cultures who associated it with a fear of death instead of a reverence for the afterlife.

9/11 was a day of symbolic significance to Americans because we associate it with emergencies. Friday the 13th is associated with bad luck. What a perfect day to make an attempt on the president's life? Portland is adjacent to Vancouver, and the whole area is a hotbed for terrorists from what I can gather. Does this whole idea sound totally kooky?

I was thinking about Friday the 13th in relation to the Hurricane and the story I posted earlier about the drill where a Hurricane was used as cover for an attack.

It's interesting that you found a completely different threat on the same day.

Are you superstitious? ;-)

In don't think it sounds kooky at all. I think not thinking of everything possibilty or reason is kooky. We are dealing with kooks therefore we must think like kooks. Any scenario, even if it seems kooky, is worth thinking about and putting out there for other opinions. Look at me I post my kooky dreams. But seriously, I think you did a good job.
