Something has really bugging me today, and it's "out there" so I hesitate to post it, but wanted to throw it out there for any thoughts you may have. I've been trying to gather information on this for several hours today, got away from the idea, but it keeps coming back to me.
Tomorrow, President Bush is going to be in Portland. His father coined the name "Little Beirut" for Portland years ago when protesters threw broccoli and assorted other goodies at his car.
Also, tomorrow is Friday the 13th. The Muslims don't look at that day ominously as it is traditionally viewed in America. I've been trying to find information about this, and found the following:
To the ancient Egyptians, life was a quest for spiritual ascension which unfolded in stages - 12 in this life and a 13th beyond, thought to be the eternal afterlife. The number 13 therefore symbolized death - not in terms of dust and decay, but as a glorious and desirable transformation. Though Egyptian civilization perished, the death-symbolism they conferred on the number 13 survived, only to be corrupted by later cultures who associated it with a fear of death instead of a reverence for the afterlife.
9/11 was a day of symbolic significance to Americans because we associate it with emergencies. Friday the 13th is associated with bad luck. What a perfect day to make an attempt on the president's life? Portland is adjacent to Vancouver, and the whole area is a hotbed for terrorists from what I can gather. Does this whole idea sound totally kooky?
I was thinking about Friday the 13th in relation to the Hurricane and the story I posted earlier about the drill where a Hurricane was used as cover for an attack.
It's interesting that you found a completely different threat on the same day.
Are you superstitious? ;-)
In don't think it sounds kooky at all. I think not thinking of everything possibilty or reason is kooky. We are dealing with kooks therefore we must think like kooks. Any scenario, even if it seems kooky, is worth thinking about and putting out there for other opinions. Look at me I post my kooky dreams. But seriously, I think you did a good job.
No, your idea doesn't sound kooky at all. I used to live there at one time and my husband and I used to work in Portland. Portland is a hotbed not only for terrorists, but for liberals, who certainly don't want Bush to have a 2nd term in the White House.
