Religion of peace? I'm not so sure

The two men arrested in Albany for allegedly taking part in a terrorist plot were men of God. So friends and neighbors have been telling reporters. Mohammed Mosharref Hossain was a pillar of the local congregation. Yassin Muhiddin Aref was a prayer leader. They called their mosque the House of Peace. The mosque belongs to the North American Islamic Trust, which runs many other mosques in the U.S. The trust is funded mostly by the Saudis. It has other enterprises, too, including a book club. One of its featured offerings is "Jihad: A Commitment to World Peace."

Or if you are not a reader, you can express commitment to jihad in action. Like the Albany warriors who, the government charges, signed up to help gun down a senior Pakistani diplomat on the streets of New York City, using a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile.

Islam believes that there is a sucker born every minute and that any infidel is one.

We are very (too) tolerant. Would we feel safe if there were 50 million Muslims in the USA? If not, why do we feel safe with the few million we have?

When will the West wise up to the deceptive word tricks of the Muslims? Though they use words like "peace" and "terrorist" they have totally opposite definitions which make understanding impossible. Besides different definitions for common words, Muslims believe in lying to achieve their goals and deceiving us infidels is the name of the game. I'm getting so tired of our collective stupidity.

It's about time the press and the American people come to grips with this fools belief that Islam is a "peaceful" religion. I had occasion to be next door to a mosque waiting for my wife when there must have been some meeting going on at the mosque and if looks could kill I would have been dead. There were several twenty to thirty year-old men standing guard with such hate on their faces it made me wonder if I was in danger of my life. American Islam's silence on terror tells it all.

With islam responsible for every major conflict currently in progress on the entire planet, the label "religion of peace" appears to be somewhat tattered. The free world needs to get a firmer grasp of reality.

Sorry, but I'm no longer convinced. It may be that Islam in its true form is as gentle as a lamb. But in the real world, it is an aggressive, violent political ideology

It will never happen until another, bigger strike occurs on our shores. The sheeple have VERY short memories. The soccer moms and dads snuggle up in their beds and HOPE that "all will be okey-dokey tomorrow." IMOHO

Read the Koran and Haddiths, in addition to the unreleaved history of bloodshed and violence that has always accompanied this belief system wherever it went.

Osama Bin Laddin and Al Zakouwi are true modern day descendents of the prophet.

The silence of the Islamic community in the world at large in general, and in the west in particular, indicates the true mindset of the followers of this belief system.

Each immigrant group which arrived on these shores contained elements which were violent and undesireable. The
overwhelming bulk of the balance of those ethnic groups were for the most part not only outspoken in their opposition to their more violent countrymen, but were in the forefront of combatting and opposing them. This has not been observed in the Islamic Community for the very simple reason that most Muslims, while not terrorists themselves, condone or at least do not take exception to the acions of Islamofascists.

This is a sobering reality which demands on the part of Americans a new perspective towards this group. The ARE different, and should be treated very differently.

Americans won't accept it until they absolutely have to, which is fairly traditional - look at the experience in WW1 and WW2.

It will take a tragedy greater in scope to awaken them to the threat. And in any case (say, a simultaneous 4 city attack with casualties totalling around 100,000-125,000), I still expect that a good 25% to 33% simply will blame the USA and advise we surrender.

Great point.

I'm willing to believe there are peaceful muslims, what I'm not willing to accept is the fact that their leaders fail to condemn and actively fight terrorism.

It's ludicrous to call it a religion of peace, when they fail to show plainly visible signs of it.
