Tancredo wants more data on illegal immigrants
Rocky Mountain News ^ | 8/7/2004 | M.E. Sprengelmeyer

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo is pressing the Department of Homeland Security for more detailed illegal immigration data, fearing the country's southern border has become an open door for would be terrorists.

This week, Tancredo and 11 other members of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, which he chairs, wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge. They want unreleased data on people apprehended trying to enter the country illegally since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Specifically, they wan't to know how many non-Mexican immigrants have been apprehended along the southern border and how many people detained after crossing the Mexican or Canadian border are "special interest aliens" from countries that have suspected terrorism ties.

According to published reports, federal officials are investigating possible terrorists connections to a woman carrying a South African passport, who was arrested after crossing the U.S. - Mexico border in Texas.

"The incident raises a larger issue...whether or not terrorists from the Middle East are using our inadequately patrolled land borders with Canada and Mexico for easy entry into the United States," the lawmakers wrote to Ridge.

The Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus wants Ridge to cough up all the information on Other Than Mexicans (OTMs) apprehended since 9-11-01. This is one thing that must NOT be allowed to be swept under the rug.

Condi. Ya, I'd go along with that. Not too sure she'd have much of a chance of winning, tho. She's far too brilliant for Joe Lunchbox.

"Imagine Tancredo running in 2008."

FAIR has a list of more than 30,000 former Republican activists that will be writing in Tancredo's name in '2004.

Just so the Republican Party will know how many votes from their base are in play over illegal immigration.

It's fairly obvious that is true. Every once in a while a story slips through confirming it. One guy or another passes secret information and it gets reported. I'll bet we don't hear the half of it.

I wonder what Tancredo means when he says he wants "unreleased data" then.

Is he just fishing for headlines or is there some top secret list?

My view of the southern border regions is the same as it has always been; Wide Open for all intents and despicapable purposes. As a lifelong Texican I can assure you the border policies of this administration will be our undoing for the fact that it is totally out of control. More are slipping by us than are being caught and fingerprinted and catalogued for reference purposes. The sad fact of the matter is that we have much to be concerned about and have a government oblivious to the real and present danger it represents.

The middle class of Mexico can go hang for all I care; what about our own citizens being ignored and taxed to death by the bleeding hearts who are bound and determined to see all of us attacked from within our very own country. Even the Villiage Idiot has enough smarts to see the danger here but our socialistias in charge cannot see beyond the end of their noses. Criminal illegal aliens are interspersing with the indigenous population of Mexico and from some of the pictures I've seen the hair and skintones make them almost indistinguishable from the natives we so gladly acknowledge on our southern border; with the solid encouragement of our stupid band of fearless leaders we are obliged to believe. Here is what I believe partner! We are set up for disaster with enemy foreign nationals who have been infiltrating our country for years. Integrating themselves into the fabric of this terribly ignorant and deluded nation. They are a hidden advasary ready to pounce when the order goes out and with the ease I have seen their ability to move about undetected and unable to accurately count them, no doubt they are well financed armed to the teeth with a arsenal that most certainly includes nucleal weaponry or dirty bomb capability. We are being played the fool through mass ignorance and unfounded confidence having bought a complete bill of goods that will ultimately destroy us because of our stupidity and vain arrogance! This current government must be brought to heel on this issue or you will live to see this Free for the time being Republic systematically dismanteled and sold for scrap. I wonder.... can you handle this truth about your uncertain at best future Hmmmmmmmm!
