Some of the commentators are pro-swift boat vets and some are anti-swift boat vets and some are in the middle.

Oh you poor sot. You use a definition of "fair and balanced" that is fair and balanced.

You should know that "fair and balanced" means "left leaning but not too much."

I sentence you to watch "OutFoxed" to see how the Right has overwhelmed NBC CBS ABC NPR WB CNN Fox to see just how unfair "we" (those of us who actually love and respect the USA) have undermined the news.

This is not an issue to cut anybody a "break" on!!!

reporting only half a story is an intentional act.

Sure sounds like fair and balanced to me.

Spare me.

This is not personal, but......your reasoning is absurd.

I hope you keep trying to analyze the Fox flip-flop as we all are, but you can discard this one.

"What is wrong with Fox"

They cover up most of my TV screen with foolish graphics, wasting most of their live shots on the self promotion of their graphic artists. Not to mention the silly abortion of a flag graphic that appeared after 9-11 and never went away.

I get tired of everyone-but-the-liberals having to "walk on infinitely fine egg shells..."

That's what is wrong with this country. Everyone's afraid of the liberals. (Except Freepers, they are not afraid!)

It was a SVFT statement this morning. I heard it on Rush.

FOX has climbed into bed with CNN and all the rest of the slanted news networks who are supporting Kerry.

Pretty soon their ratings will suffer and they will be competing for the same old lefties as the others - their enthusiastic audience which brung 'em to the dance disillusioned and gone elsewhere.

A pox on FOX! They're as bad as the others. They've blown it, big time, thinking nobody will notice their shameless adultery.

They have to walk on infinitely fine egg shells right now to avoid even the smidgen of an appearance of a likelihood of being in President Bush's pocket.

Not if they want to keep their audience. They got that audience by being different from every other MSM mouthpiece for the democrat party. They would present both sides and let people decide.

If they are going to join the MSM crowd, why should I watch, other MSM have better resources than them. Internet is a more truthful source of news if that is the case.

NOTE: PLEASE DON'T SAY SOMETHING LIKE....."YOU GUYS NEED TO STOP TURNING TO THE LEFT."

Give some FACTS THEY HAVE BEEN MISSING. If you give numbers, facts, data they have not been reporting and show their over-reliance on liberals here, it will be taken more seriously than if you just start ranting about FNC turning "liberal" or something.

Refer to specific instances and refer to specific things that have been left out of their reporting.

I've always watched the news on Fox while eating dinner. Presently I watch the true crimes channel.

What's the difference? Fox is now out to kill the Bush campaign.

Paging Dr. Lee.....

It has been obvious for a long time that both Drudge Report and Fox News Channel do the eggshell routine. All FNC did in this case was decline to report a later-breaking "retraction retraction". They have plausible deniability that they haven't checked the sources yet on the "retraction retraction".

Um....yes there is. A new affidavit is on the Human Events website by George denying the news report and sticking to his original statement.

The only change is that he clarifies that he did not witness Kerry shooting the guy in the back himself.

I missed all of "Special Report" tonight. Did they bring up the Swiftvets at all during the panel?

We've been discussing this ever since the Dem convention.

When they were raving about Kerry's speech, I thought maybe it was something in the water at the Fleet Center.

But they've continued on that same line ever since.

The Swift Vets website has the so-called "retraction" on its website. I'll transcribe it in a second, but you can see it for yourself. The "retraction" is anything but. He makes an immaterial change, and reasserts that he did NOT receive certain information.

August 6, 2004 Affidavit, in response to Kranish Article - Page 1

August 6, 2004 Affidavit, in response to Kranish Article - Page 2

The second affidavit is even MORE critical of Kerry than the first one, of July 21, 2004, that underpins the Elliot's staements in the advertisement.

Paragraph 3 "In support of the advertisment, I provided an affidavit dated July 21, 2004. I wholly reaffirm that affidavit with the following immaterial clarification as to the final sentence only. In that sentence, I state '. . . in connection with his Silver Star, I was never informed that he had simply shot a wounded, fleeing Viet Cong in the back.' That staement is wholly true. As the affidavit makes clear, I received no such report.

Paragraph 4 "I do not claim to have personal knowledge as to how Kerry shot the wounded, fleeing Viet Cong. For my belief that he was wounded and fleeing (and was shot in the back), I rely upon many sources, including Michael Kranish's (the Boston Globe reporter_ own quotation of Jonn Kerry at page 102: [quote omitted by cboldt, here] . . ."

Okay. There you have the facts that support Jim Angle's assertion that Elliot has backed away from his affidavit. Oh wait, the facts don't support the assertion? Crap, let's ignore the facts then,
