What Tom Brokaw would have done in response to "America is under attack."

On Imus this morning, Tom Brokaw was talking about how when he went to see Fahrenheit 911 and it got to the part where Bush sat there for 7 minutes, he (Brokaw) kept thinking, "You just wanted the guy to stand up and say (GET THIS!):

'Sorry, kids. The President has to go. America is under attack.'

What the??? Yeah, Tom, THAT'S what he should've done! Scare the crap out of a bunch of little kids by telling them "AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK!"

I didn't say he was being critical. The point of my post was that when pressed on what he would have said to those kids, these words came out of his mouth:

"I'm sorry, kids. The President has to go. America is under attack."

With MORE time to think about it than Bush would have had, that is what Brokaw tells us he would have said.

When the first plane hit the tower, everyone thought it was an accident. I was watching FNC and they were confused, everyone was confused. It wasn't until the second plane hit the second tower that we knew for sure it was an attack.

Hindsight is really clear, but truth and ole Tom are strangers.

Tom probably did know what the paralyzed hamster did ...

And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon..."

It should be noted that the second plane hit the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m., and the plane hit the Pentagon at 9:43 a.m. By Kerry's own words, he and his fellow senators sat there for forty minutes, realizing 'nobody could think.'

And when the second plane hit Couric said "wow, they must really be having trouble with their navigation systems" or something very similar... Those of us watching (all military) let out a collective groan followed by "you dumb b___h! It's an attack!"

CNN continued to report that a small plane hit the WTC....remarking on the stupidity of the pilot........

Of course, those of us in NY area KNEW but CNN in their ivory tower had not seen what we saw.

And I'd like to ask Brokjaw if he agrees with Moore's statement that he wishes more Americans were killed so America could be taught a lesson.

Oh wait, we know the media prays for more American casualties. It helps their guy, Kerry.

I remember 9/11 very clearly.

As do I. The first report I heard was that a "commuter plane" accidentally hit the tower. Apparently, a lot of people HAVE forgotten and there are those who don't want them reminded.

If Tom Brokaw and his brethren in the media had done their job from 1992-2000 and been objective in the reporting of news, Bill Clinton wouldn't have been President and 9-11 wouldn't have happened.

Its easy for him to say what he would do as President. No consequences. We are having to deal with the consequences of him not doing his job as a reporter of news.

It's interesting to go back and look at our own reactions at that time. The first post was at 8:56:49. No word related to attack, terror, etc, was used until 9:06:13 after the second plane hit.
