Too many changes

So many changes. I am sure that they are great. But I can't navigate FR like I used to. I feel so helpless, like John Kerry in a real war zone. Things are indented, and it looks like something is reading my mind (or trying to).
Am I alone? This is not a complaint, just a global obesrvation.

It may seem a small thing, but for my eyes, this one change is a big hindrance and easily remedied without reverting to the entire old format.
John, the masthead on the Latest Posts and each individual thread page -- if you would significantly thicken the line under
Free Republic
Home · Browse · Search Pings · Mail News/Activism
Topics · Post Article
or use another visual trick to make the two pages stronger at the top and more identifiable as to their different functions, it would really help me to realize what page I'm on in a flash. It is especially important for me visually (bad eyesight) to have some visual delination atop an individual thread that says instantly I'm on the first, and succeeding, pages of a thread. The former system worked very well visually for me, so something approximating that look would be a big help.

the "PINGS" page is too wide all of a sudden, doesn't fit in my browser widnow without moving the left/right scrollbar.

the "PINGS" page is too wide all of a sudden, doesn't fit in my browser widnow without moving the left/right scrollbar. Mine too, but it's been that way off and on for a while. Sometimes it fits to the screen, mostly it doesn't.

I am another one who really thinks the 'how many views' data is not only cool...but tremendously interesting in assessing the amount of people who are reading/accessing information.
That's a great new feature.
Well done, John.

But....aren't we in danger of trying to "FReep" our own articles, just to get the count up? ;o)

HA! HA! HA!
You naive Earthling.
Little do you realize that my profile has been viewed by countless others, who are spreading the word as we speak.
MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I wish I had one of those hit counters though.
Then we'd have some final determination of how many people were foolhardy enough to venture into my warped mind.

When reading a thread and wanting to return to browse, now when I click on "Browse", I am returned to "all messages". What?!! I was in the News/Activism forum, now I'm getting all messages. Ugh. I hate that. So I have to click back on the News/Activism form. Yep. That has been bugging me all day.

Venture?! That is no mere venture! My excursion was a full fledged hike up a very steep mountain and even I turned back from it's daunting presence.

Watch it, now! No creative interpreting there.

I bet you think that's funny. Don't ya, ya little whippersnapper? Why, back in my day we used to take out the belt for a wisenheimer like yourself.

Don't forget to take out your hearing aids, so if we make too much noise...
I SAID, DON'T FORGET TO TAKE OUT YOUR HEARING AIDS, TOO!

FreeRepublic old-timer:Why, back in my day you didn't have any of these newfangled "ping" lists. If you wanted to "ping" someone, you had to do it the old-fashioned way. Why, I remember hiking three miles-in a snowstorm no less-just to ping some folks. A young feller like yourself has got it easy, I tell ya what.
