Latest spin from the DU site. "I think the lack of bounce works to our benefit. It might just motivate more of us to get everyone we know to the polls. If we had a 10 point lead, I think we might becomecomplacent."

Gee, this has me worried. What if W gets out to a 10-point lead? Then we'd really be in trouble! ;-}

That can't be a quote from DUmbass. There isn't a single profanity in it!

That is so true. I only went over there once but noticed the amount of vulgar language used was 10X what is used on this web site. Much more vitriol there than here. Not as much humor (if any). Just plain bitter people.

Polls are just a device to "persuade" the uninformed to move in a desired direction. Totally useless otherwise.

Close polls keep the TV viewers suspense up. They bring in ratings.
As the election gets closer, the polls will become more accurate, otherwise, they lose credibility.

Vote and approval numbers back to 7/26 level.

It's like the RAT convention never happened.

Actually, it's like the RAT convention did happen and people didn't like what they saw.

I have noticed that since the 'rat convention, my liberal rag of a newspaper has not mentioned one poll. If Kerry had gained even 1/2 pt, it would be in bold letters on the front page: "Kerry pulls away!" "Kerry gaining momentum!" "Bush losing ground!". Their simple silence on this matter speaks volumes to me.

Part of the good news if Bush wins is never having to hear from John Kerry and his obnoxious wife again. I wonder if he's ever been in Vietnam. Anybody know?

The President doesn't need to be at 55% approval to win a solid victory. If 52% is his real number -- and I suspect it's a bit lower than that, because most other pollsters have it in the high forties -- he'll win pretty easily.

They think there is a bounce. They won't believe any poll that says otherwise.

Rasmussen's poll does not inspire confidence. He's all over the place. Tomorrow Kerry will be up three points again. I think Bush is doing better than the numbers we're seeing from all these polls.

I hesitate to even mention this, but....

Why is it that when any poll by any organization/polster indicates that the President is behind the dim, most of the folks here immediately, vociferously, and vehemently attack the poll as "lies, untrue, wrong, stupid" and a host of other invectives?

Yet, when any poll - regardless of how important or obscure - shows the President either tied or ahead of the dim, those same folks praise the poll to the high heavens and declare it to be "precient, true, factual, about time" and a host of other praiseworthy terms.

The poster himself stated the case: the only poll that matters is the one upcoming in November, 2004.

Let's all try to concentrate on that poll; and leave the rest of the polls in the dustbin of history (if I may paraphrase a rather famous quote).

Anyway...just my thoughts...

Guys, I am not getting complacent, and I will work as hard as I can to make this victory possible. But lets be honest...Bush will crush Kerry like a beercan!

Huh, I must have gotten it wrong as well. I heard it was something about a frenchman and a hampster in a gay bar called "The Boat".

"The poster himself stated the case: the only poll that matters is the one upcoming in November, 2004."

The originator of the thread didn't say that, I did. Just for the record.

Like I said, the positive trending in the polls for Bush is a good thing, but the fat lady isn't even view yet, let alone singing.

~~maybe Im off track. I think the lack of bounce, or that appearance, actually works to our benefit. It might just motivate more of us to get everyone we know to the polls. If we had a 10 point lead, I think we might become complacent or over confident and wouldnt do everything we could do to bring people to the polls.~~

Imagine how great the news will be when they are losing by 10% in Sept or Oct, then they will definitely not be complacent, they will be really motivated to get the fraud vote counted!

And after they lose on Election Day, that really is to their benefit too because it clears the decks for Hillary in only four years, if they can just get their message out which they were unable to do in the 2004 Kerry landslide loss.

Kerry ahead = Bad
Bush ahead = Good.
Write that down.
