Jewish Republicans "Stacking" Bush-Kerry Internet Poll

In this edition of NJDC's News Digest:

The Forward reports today, "The director of Jewish outreach for Bush-Cheney '04, Michael Lebovitz, is trying to stack an online presidential poll at the Jewish Telegraphic Agency's Web site, according to an e-mail message from him that is making the rounds."

At the time of this e-mail, JTA's unscientific Internet poll shows Bush/Cheney leading Kerry/Edwards by a margin of 53 percent to 38 percent, respectively. For purposes of comparison, a Gallup Organization report in May determined that "the data reviewed in this report continue to suggest that Bush will be hard-pressed to win the votes of Jewish Americans, given their continuing strong preference for the Democratic Party as well as their majority disapproval of Bush."

The full text of the Forward item -- and a link to the original on the Internet -- can be found below. Information regarding the JTA Internet poll can be seen at http://www.jta.org .

Bush Camp Tries Stacking Online Poll

The director of Jewish outreach for Bush-Cheney '04, Michael Lebovitz, is trying to stack an online presidential poll at the Jewish Telegraphic Agency's Web site, according to an e-mail message from him that is making the rounds. He is asking Bush supporters to go to the Web site, "log on and vote" in order to influence what's read by JTA's "hundreds of thousands of subscribers." We've asked BC '04 and Kerry camp for comment.

Democratic strategist Steve Rabinowitz said of Lebovitz's move, "It is lame. It is regrettable. Unfortunately, partisans do it. Now Kerry camp is going to have to do the same, which is a shame because both sides have better things to do."

Way to go! I am sitting here laughing -- it was the Democrat pollster that got us so we figured Freepers should get a chance.

I figured I wish I were Jewish,

LOL. I was thinking my husband grandma was Jewish (in Nazi Germany no less) and in ultra liberal Jewish synagogues if you have any drop of Jewish blood you are Jewish. i.e. My husband and children are sorta Jewish, so I can vote. Respectful rationalization.
