The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

NEW YORK - Police searched trucks, blocked streets and posted machine-gun toting officers outside financial landmarks Monday, a day after the government's chilling warning that terrorists might target the buildings with bombs.

CBS reported that on the evening news tonight, which is where I got it. I had not heard it elsewhere, but since I have to watch the networks without FNC, I have come to find this reporter as pretty reliable.

"if they are caught they do neither, accomplish their mission or end their life.....then what?

Hence the "scram" contingency plan. You will react like you are trained. If you train to have your security compromised, then you have an automatic series of actions to take. You don't think (too much) about what the authorities are doing, you concentrate on following the contingency plan.

pfffffft? The only sound I know like that has to do with a suppressor on the end of a firearm. I don't know if it applies in the context you mention.

orange-high is a real level for NYC. NYC is always at orange, at orange-high, the truck searches and traffic pattern changes take place.

I'll accept that as a viable reality. There's nothing like taking control of your imagination, and steering it to such a nice visual.

You are forgetting one thing; most of these online guys are not operators. I'd not be surprised if they were reigned in. Maybe even for prayer or other support.

They didn't stop on their own. They wouldn't know how.

"Meaning of two bows?"

I'm not up to date on this 'bows' subject, but does 'bows and arrows' help? There's a site on the net called 'Two Turkish Bows' and bows are weapons, are they not?

http://www.atarn.org/islamic/akarpowicz/turkish_bows.htm

Just a thought...

Okay, I was going with the usual Homeland Security system, which is just 5 flavors. I guess NYC has its own special blends.

I have been having somach problems for several days.

Essentially a touch of the stomach flu. Nothing major yet. If it keeps up tomorrow, I will consider seeing the doc.

It is very mild though.....not severe like those horrid cases.

For what it's worth, the aircraft in the "bows" sketch appears to be a DC-10 (or later variation). Many of these have been retired, only some commercial airlines are still flying them (and many cargo carriers). Perhaps an aircraft buff can clarify more specifically - I notice it has the winglets also . . .

Hello fellow lurker. I can't sleep unless I get my daily TM fix. Thanks for the reply to my question.
That info you supplied on muslim population, although way back in 1990 was very interesting. Every little bit helps. Until I saw those numbers, I was still under the impression that the 'muslim problem' was an immigrant 'thing' but when you look at the rest of the numbers, the total migrants from the ME, being so scattered and diverse wouldn't add up to 'a hill of beans' to quote from that famous movie, Casablanca...methinks.

Talk to folks who work there and see if they know where he is first.

If they don't.....call the FBI.

The Turkish bows are works of art.

Not that easy to use today.

Calling a man a 'bow tie', is not a compliment, and for some
reason, bow tie keeps coming to mind.

Two Bow ties comes to mind. Which two men would they like to see dead in the west?

THAT is ingenious!! "Bow tie" is slang for man.

And we have long feared they would make an attempt on our President, which has been discussed on other threads in the last 2 days.

We may have gotten as many or more in the last 5 years that we had prior. The ones sneaking across the border are of real concern.

I threw "two bows" into google & found that in the Islamic world :

Two bows is a measure of distance.

It's a proverb - A person cannot mount two horses or bend two bows. (avoid excessiveness)

There's a dawn prayer of two bows.

It refers to a strengthening of a bond of friendship just like drawing two bows together both appearing almost one.

It's referred to in the end days of death & destruction when the mountains will be brought down, everything will become dust...when the sun is brought down to two bows length...

The Mongols relied on two bows fighting in Baghdad. They later added catapults and incendiary devices & introduced gunpowder, a technology that would alter the direction of Muslim & world politics.

That's what bothers me... I don't know anyone that wears a wrist camera...odd piece of equipment. How much does he make at the A&P? Enough to buy a fancy luxury item like that? Wonder where he bought it? Not something you see around alot..

~~~~~~~~~~
This is the first time I've ever seen one myself.
He works as a baker in the deli department.
Another thing. He told me a few weeks ago when he returned to work that he bought a house in upstate NY. Drives an SUV - not in great conditions now, but almost brand new 3 years ago when I first met him. I believe he told me he used to live in Brooklyn as he always mentioned the number of mosques popping up all over Brooklyn. I remember this distinctly because he mentioned collection plates in a church but not in mosques.
He still owes me a Koran though :). He promised he would give me a Koran for free but never did. Now, don't get alarmed here. I'm Catholic and have no intention to convert to the "Religion of Peace." I didn't ask for it; he offered to me.
Bobibutu is right, though, in suggesting to let the police do their job. What scares me, however, is that if I inform the authorities and they check on the guy, he'll knows that he was me who informed them. At this time I'm ambivalent as to whether to inform the authorities or not, but if I have to i'll eventually will.
What I meant by "engaging" him was to just talk to him and say hi. However, he's not been willing to talk to me like he used to prior to 9-11. Could that he's just afraid to open up after 9-11. I don't know. He just scared the hell out of me of the things he said re America, Christians and Jews.
Anyway, I'll keep an eye on him for now, just in case.
