A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Bush - Cheney 04

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

I thought that you already had Rusty. Glad, though that he is making his way to you.

He "missed" his flight last week and we've been having trouble "coordinating" between the left coast and midwest. This really works well as we have the weekend to spend with him. Knock on wood all works out...we are heading up to northern Michigan next week to a family cottage...Giz loves to travel...hopefully Rusty will too :o)

So how was Oshkosh???? Or were you working most of the time? Next lesson is Sunday. Have been "psyching" myself up "practicing" landing (in my head). Instructor will probably go back to having me do stalls, slow fights or 45 degree bank turns (I must admit those still send a little chill down my spine LOL!)

Hi Dutchess. Just keep doing the banked turns untill you are comfortable. It will come.

Oshkosh was very busy as usual. I didn't get to see too much as it was kinda a working trip. I did get this shot of a C-5A and the FAA Administrator Marion Blakey.

Thank You, O God! The little I've seen of the Demonrat Convention, it was a continual stream of filthy Lies! If Kerry's nose could grow every time he lied, he'd be pushing it around in front of him in a wheel barrow! I never thought I would loathe anyone as much as the Clintoon, the Hildabeast, and Albert Arnold Gore! But Kerry is just as wicked as that Terrible Threesome!

Distribute this link to everybody who wonders
about President Bush
and his service during Vietnam.

Kerry's anti war activities were doing this period!

What is Senator John Kerry's relationship to VVAW?

http://www.vvaw.org/faq/#4

Since Vietnam Veterans Against the War's inception in 1967, tens of thousands of vets, GIs and supporters have participated in and supported the actions of VVAW. One of those members in the early 1970s was John Kerry. Kerry was appointed to the VVAW Executive Committee to assist in preparing Dewey Canyon III, VVAW's limited incursion into the land of Congress in 1971 (Nicosia, 98-99). Kerry made his greatest contribution to the anti-war movement and to VVAW in his speech to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on April 23, 1971 (Brinkley, 371-373: Hunt, 109-110; Nicosia, 136-138; Wells, 495).

Content of the speech is found at:

http://lists.village.virginia.edu/sixties/HTML_docs/Resources/Primary/Manifestos/VVAW_Kerry_Senate.html.

By 1972, John Kerry had moved on from VVAW (Brinkley, 406: Hunt, 127-128; Nicosia, 211).

He was not one of the original founding members of VVAW in 1967.

I never had any doubts about President Bush's military record.

Now Kerry is a different story!

Keep At It!

Read: Isaiah 55:6-13

My word . . . shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please. —Isaiah 55:11

Bible In One Year: Psalms 51-53; Romans 2

They know Tom Dotson pretty well in the prisons of Michigan. They ought to. He spent more than a decade behind bars.

Tom gave his testimony at the annual banquet for prison chaplains in Muskegon, Michigan. He said he had grown up in a Christian home but had rebelled and rejected the gospel. His wife, who sang at the banquet, stayed with him in spite of his repeated failures. A prison chaplain faithfully worked with him, Tom genuinely surrendered to Jesus Christ, and his life was changed.

Dotson urged Christian workers,“Continue on in your ministry with people like me, no matter how frustrating. We may have lots of setbacks. But don’t give up. There’s power for change in even the most frustrating person through the sacrifice of Christ, the One who really sets us free.”Then, looking right at the chaplain who had patiently witnessed to him, Tom said tenderly,“ Thank you for not giving up on me."

God will “abundantly pardon”all who come to Him (Isaiah 55:7). His powerful Word can bring change (v.11), freeing men and women from the prison of sin (John 8:32).

Are you about to give up on someone you think will never change? Don’t! Keep at it! —Dave Egner

Be not weary in well-doing,
Though your labors cause you pain—
There could never be a harvest
Without sowing of the grain. —Anon.

Instead of giving up on a person, give that person to God.

The missile successfully intercepted a short-range target during tests at the Point Mugu Sea Range in Calif. This was the twelfth Arrow intercept test and the seventh test of the complete Arrow system. The objective of the test was to demonstrate the Arrow system’s improved performance against a target that represents a threat to Israel. The test represented a realistic scenario that could not have been tested in Israel due to test-field safety restrictions. U.S. Navy photo (RELEASED)
