Why go if you can't be seen or heard?
but aren't those the ones roaming the streets? Whose penned up? The anti-homosexual anti-abortion protestors, right? The conservative ones.
I know they can be just as radical, (Robert Rudolph Randy whathisname, among others), but I bet fewer of them thean the others.
Besides, where's it stop? Who decides? Then don't let anyone protest, or let 'em all out!
I do understand after what happened in Seattle, but...
I wouldn't spend any time in the "Pen." But I keep thinking Fanueil Hall must be an open area?
Check out the Army MP looking over her shoulder at others in the pen...
That "caliber" of people have the Streets of Boston -- freely, courtesy of a Federal judge. The liberty-minded, conservative, Bible thumping, and anti-abortion protesters got the pen.
Downtown Boston is an open area, but it, too, looks like an armed camp. There are Mass. Nat. Guard MPs all over the place, along with the usual police.
Damn. No place for a self-respecting Freeper to flash a sign?
It's actually more bizarre than that. While the conservative press nation-wide reported, in re: that FBI warning, about how some Marxist anarchist groups OPENLY talked about waging "war" on the convention -- IN FACT, THEY GOT THE STREETS!!!! The left-wing control of the local law enforcement community led to an ABCnews.com story on July 23, 2004 story that they really didn't care about anarchists ("have little, if any concern about such an attack"), but were more concerned with isolating "neo-Nazis" (the same people that Lefties talking about the "right-wing" portray as ranging from Ronald Reagan to skinheads). Check it out. There are certifiable Left-wing "loons" (as they say in Europe) peppered throughout the bureaucracies in Boston. This is a town where more people read and listen to, on the local TV, Noam Chomsky than know who James Otis (famous South Shore patriot), or even George Orwell was.
Boston/MA is officially a police state, we found it impossible to hang bridge signs last night. Will enter the city today but have to be home to see O'reilly interview the Mooreon.
Man. What a world. I mean we're stuck if we can only talk among ourselves on the internet.
The hard core loonies are gearing up for the GOP convention.
It will be a good thing if they are penned up.
Remember what they tried to pull in L.A. in 2000.
I suspect that they have learned their lesson and will be difficult contain this time.
bttt
Gee, I don't know. Maybe it's because of the communist socialists in the pen??? You want me to stand by some woman holding an "Ashcroft-Kerry" banner???
Good heavens are you clueless. The hammer and sickle is to show that Ashcroft is behaving like Beria and Kerry is a Com-Symp. It is a nationalist republican behind that poster. Buchanan's people, Libertarians, Birchers (most influential in New England), American Free Press, and a host of liberty-minded folks on the "right" are resisting SOCIALISM. Bush is the most socialist president since FDR. Fact. Only FDR didn't promote destroying the border with Mexico.
The way you write you sound like one of them. The LA rioters got the STREETS in Boston! It is the anti-abortionists, nationalists, conservatives, Bible thumpers, and generally the "right-wing" that has been active in the pen, because all of their permits to protest in the streets or post up posters were pulled. WAKE UP. This is Boston we're talking about -- the land of the Left and the ADL. They have their eyes on suppressing only one side of the political spectrum -- the "right-wing."
Some vulgar nitwits on this thread don't seem to realize that this particular sign is ANTI-COMMUNIST, ANTI-ORWELLIAN, ANTI-SOCIALIST. "Iron Curtain," a stylized hammer and sickle reflecting a Communized America, and an American flag behind bars/cage can only mean one thing. Just for the record.
Interesting sarcasm. Every word you type or post on this site is recorded, logged, and indexed. That's the point -- they can't stand political speech that is unregulated and not under surveillance. For the cynic this may seem trite, but the essence of a police state was once described by Solzhenitsyn, as well as former DIA head General Williams (head of an anti-communist group working with defectors), and understood well by all who lived in Eastern Europe -- as the accumulation of power and pretext. It is the gathering of lists, as Lenin once infamously had a long discourse about, so that when the time comes (the next war, or whatever)...
Oh give me a break. That's a speech killer rationale if I ever heard it. If your uberlords want me they can come on down. I'm sure as hell not hiding.
My apologies. I have been hit and miss on that particular arena and my ignorance showed. Thanks for setting me straight on just who was in the pen. grrrrrrrrr
We shouldn't wait for RNC authorization. They're not cutting-edge thinkers. WE are. WE are the campaign. What prevents Boston-area and New Hampshire patriots from coming down tomorrow night for a big FReep? Nothing but laziness or lack of imagination.
