Spy claims Israel assassinated JFK

Freed Israeli nuclear spy Mordechai Vanunu said in an interview published today that Israel was behind the 1963 assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, prompting some Israeli officials to hope aloud the far-fetched comments will hurt Vanunu's credibility.

Vanunu, a former nuclear technician who was recently released from Israeli prison after serving an 18-year sentence for exposing Israel's nuclear program at Dimona to Britain's Sunday Times, has been barred from leaving the country, talking to the media or meeting with foreigners.

But the London-based al-Hayat newspaper published an interview yesterday it claims is the first Vanunu has given, in which the spy said that according to "near-certain indications," Kennedy was assassinated due to "pressure he exerted on then head of government, David Ben-Gurion, to shed light on Dimona's nuclear reactor."

"We do not know which irresponsible Israeli prime minister will take office and decide to use nuclear weapons in the struggle against neighboring Arab countries," Vanunu was quoted as saying. "What has already been exposed about the weapons Israel is holding can destroy the region and kill millions."

Vanunu, who would not be in a position to know the current security apparatus of Israel's nuclear plant, also claims the Middle East is at risk of a "second Chernobyl" in the event of an accident at the Dimona plant. He said an earthquake could cause fissures to the core that would create a massive radiation leak "threatening millions."

Jordan should test residents in the border regions with Israel to be sure that they have not already been exposed to any radiation and administer the necessary medicine, Venunu said. He also criticized the visit to Israel early this month by the head of the Atomic Energy Agency, Mohammed el-Baradei.

"He (Baradei) should have refused to have visited Israel (because) he was not allowed to inspect the nuclear reactor," Vanunu said.

According to al-Hayat, Vanunu now lives "with his Palestinian friends" in east Jerusalem.

Israeli officials would not comment on what actions they would take against Vanunu, who had agreed as part of the terms of his release, that he would not grant media interviews.

"The opinions on Vanunu are divided," Ra'anan Gissin, a spokesman for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, told reporters. "Some say let him speak and it adds to the ambiguity policy, while others say the more he speaks the more he raises tensions, particularly in the current atmosphere."

Gissin said Vanunu's comments regarding JFK work to discredit the former spy. "This is something you would expect from [Yasser] Arafat," Gissin said.

Separately, an Israeli source told WorldNetDaily that after the Kennedy assassination, Israeli intelligence carried out an exercise to see how shooter Lee Harvey Oswald, who used a mail-order, clip-fed 6.5mm rifle, was able to kill Kennedy from his angle on the sixth floor of a nearby building.

The simulation exercise reportedly featured expert marksmen using more powerful equipment set up on tripods and utilized a laser direction-finder to show where the people in Kennedy's car would have been hit after the marksmen fired. The source said the exercise showed it was "nearly impossible for Oswald to have done what he did."

Nice to see you admit that the rifle was crap. Doesn't it bother you that you have to rely on the "Well what do you expect he was a crazy man" excuse to attempt to rationalize LHO's actions? I do not think he was as crazy as he would have to be to fit this picture. He didn't sound crazy after the shooting. He didn't sound crazy on the radio in N.O. In fact, in both instances he sounded remarkably poised and well-spoken particularly for one with no education to speak of. His intelligence is verified by his ability to learn Russian on his own (apparently) so well that many believed him a native Russian.

It is not the case that my only problem with the WC is Oswald's motivations and actions there is the whole entirely separate problem of Ruby. And the Second Oswald sighting reported by numerous witnesses including the car salesman who took an "Oswald" for a test ride wherein HE drove.

Oswald's was NOT accurate. Nor would yours be without practice and a properly attached scope. Oswald's came with the scope improperly attached it did not become messed up AFTER the FBI had it.

There is not ONE witness who reported him practicing shooting the gun. Not ONE who can point to a purchase of ammo for it. Not one who ever saw bullets for it. The only bullets ever claimed to be with it were those fired and I believe one unfired at the TBD.

As a shooter you know very well that rifles with scopes moved hundreds of miles over a period of months will not be accurate without a proper sighting of the scope and recalibration of the sights. This was never the case with the MC. And it wasn't even in a case to protect it just tossed around in a blanket although no one ever actually saw it during these travels.

Isn't the point that in order to prove that the gun was bought by Oswald it would be nice if it was actually the gun he ordered? I realize this is consistency missing in the rest of the Report.

Or that he actually picked up the gun when the evidence shows that he couldn't have been at the P.O. Doesn't that bother you a little?

The FBI received it from the Dallas PD with the scope improperly attached. The Dallas PD had removed the scope during a check for fingerprints, and did not reattach it properly. Prior to the Dallas PD f***ing it up, it was attached properly (the Dallas PD did not put the shims back onto the scope mount).

Incorrect; there are several witnesses who saw him shooting the weapon at a rifle range near Dallas. He was described as a Grade-A a$$hole.

Listen to what you're saying. Numerous witnesses saw him fire three shots from a rifle at the President. This alone proves that LHO was a hostile, irrational man. Rational, well-adjusted people do not fire guns at the President. From this unquestionable premise, you can then expect LHO to demonstrate a consistent pattern of irrational behavior and decisions. It's not an excuse or a rationalization. You must expect a pattern of irrational behavior from LHO based on the science of pyschology.

No witnesses saw him fire any shots at the president. Those who claim to have seen something were very vague. This is as "unquestionable [a} premise" as Michael MOOre's statement about Bush.

Not only did NO one see him do this but he was found on the second floor of the TBO within seconds by the first officer to enter the building after the shots calmly drinking a pop and not breathing hard.

Expecting even irrational killers to act irrationally all the time or even most is not rational.

Where did you get the idea that the Dallas Police had removed the scope? The WC testimony I have read does not indicate that at all. You expect me to believe that the DPD removed the scope to look for prints when it didn't remove the stock and other wooden parts where the FBI "found" a partial print later?

The "Oswald" shooting at other people's targets in order to draw attention to himself is one of the numerous Second Oswalds running around Dallas at times he was known to be elsewhere. Like the "Oswald" who visited Sylvia Odio and the "Oswald" who scared the hell out of a car salesman during a wild test drive then stated he would be coming into money soon. If you want to believe these stories fine but don't expect others to.

There was NO POSSESSION involved that is one of the problems with this story. There were NO other bullets.

Certainly there were no ballistics to link the bullet fragments to the gun ever listed. Is this the kind of proof that is acceptable to you for ANY trial or just in this case?

At a minimum any shooter would have his gun properly resighted particularly when it was a piece of crap unused for months and dragged around the country unprotected from bumps and collisions. But I forget those were Magikal times with Magikal Bullets, Magikal shooters and Magikal shooting.

Oswald was a patsy.

JFK's policies upset everyone in power foreign and domestic on planet Earth. JFK was a new world politician wanting to change the old guard. The "hit" was a approved by all.

I remember some pictures that were taken by the emergency crews that were sent to Chernobyl. They called themselves the "expendables", and as it appears they passed away in the following years due to inadequate rad protection suits and prolonged exposure.

There were also some pictures taken a few months after that - truly incredible pictures. There was an orchard with apples as big as a PC monitor hanging from a tree. Just looking at that really freaked me - I was glad the magazine spared his readers pictures of children born immediately after the accident.
