AND if it was "widely circulated", why did Burglar steal it? How incompetent is this guy?
One in the same. What has always bothered me about this "foiled plot" is the fact that Clinton did nothing about it. An unsuccessful attack is still an attack. Clinton should have showed some leadership and launched an attack against AQ in Afghanistan. Instead, they kept it quiet and assigned some criminal lawyers to the case. We had to wait until 9/11 to take action.
Page A1 above the fold:
Former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger left his home this morning wearing one black sock and one blue sock. When questioned by this reporter his excuse was "it was dark when I got dressed and I did not want to wake my wife."
Page Z99:
Former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger inadvertently left the National Archives with 50 classified documents. When questioned by this reporter, the victim of the White House Leaking Room questioned the timing of the leak. As our readers recall, the GOP was investigated and punished earlier this year because of the leaking of a memo detailing steps to use National Security issues as a political tool.
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist appropriately expressed his remorse over the actions of the actions of the GOP spin machine, and returned his small balls to Senator Daschle. Being a physician, Frist is capable of removing them for the dems on demand. This latest episode leads one to wonder if the lesson was learned or does Dr. Frist need to remove his small balls once again?.
Bill O'Reilly infuriated me last night--doesn't he have staff that can do research on these things? Couldn't they have found out what the protocols are for documents like these, so he wouldn't look like such a blustering idiot? He needs to at least read Free Republic--if he had, he might have read several reports on how a "copy" is not truly a copy, but in fact a copy with original notes added to it. One of a kind. And now those are "lost."
If it was widely circulated, then why did sockburgler need to steal it?
Almost as funny as a BJ in the Oval Office?
DemocRATs and media types are drinking it by the gallon!
Compared to the impeachment, this is a massive ingestion!
WOW!
I had forgot about that part ...
The draft copies on the other hand would not be circulated and the changes from the original to the final would tell volumes about the political pressure from Clinton and Berger to tone down the Clarke critique of the Administrations poor preparations against a terrorist attack. I would love to see that first Clarke draft. This is what they are attempting to cover up or discredit if it comes out.
I heard yesterday for the first time that Berger took over 90 PAGES of documents.
later
Although various drafts of the document may have been widely circulated, the comments that it generated would have stayed with each individual copy only come back to the source.
It is the comments that I believe Berger was sanitizing out of all the drafts.
So Crowley's claim that everything was known by many is PURE BUNKUM
I suspect that there were comments made thast clinton did not want the 9/11 commission to see and he made Berger go retrieve them.
Crowley claims the 9/11 commision got to see all the docs but that was only AFTER Berger had destryed some and removed the notes from others.
LOL! You read between the lines of hidden but true realities very well. ;)
The "we were all laughing about it" line includes a whole bunch of people. Now tell me again that Kerry didn't know??
I agree with you. And I think we will see more that this scandal coming out of the woodwork before the election.
If Hillary thought she could sweep the nomination from John Kerry, this is certainly going to put a damper on that idea.
Perhaps all of this is DEM infighting and it isn't going to be pretty.
Get the cells ready, it's going to be an interesting chess match. Who is going to be the first to say "checkmate"?
I think he really meant "Oh sh", with an "it" tacked on!
