Update from Wash Times: A U.S. military spokesman in Tikrit told United Press International that the report was untrue. "Nothing's been found. The report is not factual," said Master Sgt. Robert Cowens, a spokesman for the 1st Infantry Division... A spokesman with Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's office told UPI that the report concerning the alleged missiles and warheads emerged "while gathering information for Saddam Hussein's tribunal" during the interrogation of a captured former official of Saddam's regime.
Al Sabah, the Iraqi newspaper funded by the Coalition Provisional Authority, reports on its front page this morning that a former senior Ba'ath party activist has led coalition troops to three nuclear warheads hidden in a bunker.
Will post translation when we have it.

Here is story in full:
Headline: Khidhur (or Khidhir) al-Douri, back from the dead, reveals three nuclear missiles
Sources in the Interior ministry and the National Security Advisor's Office refused to comment on news reports that three missiles with nuclear warheads had been seized during the arrest of Khidhur al-Douri, the former Ba'ath party member.
Iraqi political sources, who requested anonimity, inisisted that Iraqi security authorities arrested al-Douri and seized the missiles.
The same sources told al-Sabah that al-Douri, who held meany Ba'ath party positions during the former regime, was falsely pronounced dead on its demise. Forged death certificates had been circulated.
He was arrested in an area between Oja and al-Dour, in Salahidine province.
The same sources said three missiles were found with nuclear heads attached in a tunnel six metres underground.
A cement layer six metres thick had been built over the tunnel to hide it from scientific ray detection that could detect the radiation emitted by the nuclear heads.
The tunnel leading to the three missiles is connected to a small hole that opens out on the main road between Ouja and Dour.
The sources said al-Douri was arrested after sending an email, specifying the location and a meeting place in Tikrit.
Authorities analysed the message. Iraqi forces then moved into the area, laying a trap that snared al-Douri and his son.
Al-Douri then revealed the location of the missiles. Various light weapons and money was also seized during the operation.

Is there ANY real news in any of these 500+ posts, or is it ALL one-liners about what the Dems will say about this?
Huge waste of my time to try to read through this damn thread on what should have been an important topic. Grrrrrr.
Probably had by some Iraqi who told an exciting story to a newly minted cub reporter for an Iraqi newspaper who is sitting in an Internet cafe in Baghdad surfing the web and laughhing his ass off.
You mean a "hugh" waste of time.
Different sources have mentioned that the Iraqi security forces successfully arrested Khather Al Dori who was one of the leading heads in the tyrant disposed regime. The arrest came after gathering information about his movements including internet connections messages. His existence was defined between Al Dor and Al Aouja. Among the arrested was his son. Al Dori, indeed, is a zombi because he was announced dead and a death certificate issued for him after the fall of the regime!
There are speculations that the arrest of the above criminal has lead to the discovery of at least three rockets which are believed to be prepared to or may carry out nuclear heads. This speculation came due to the way these rockets were stored in a very secure reinforced concrete underground room with an exit leading to the main road. The rockets are now under investigation.
OK so what we have is a biggie in the former regime who was thought to have been killed during the war ....being tracked thru his use use of the internet.
That much is known for sure.
There is speculation as to what was in the warheads.
Note the room these 3 missiles were found in.......someone went to alot of trouble constructing it....something valuable was stored there.
Stay tuned ...
Well well well, Scott Ritter must have been out 4#$5ing the local kids when he should have been looking for WMD's.
Yep. We never did hear much about what was found in those tunnels in Tikrit. Remember the big to-do about them during the war? Too bad the stupid reporters didn't remember anything about them - lest they might do some actual investigative journalism and find out what we discovered there. I sure would like to know.
indeed, Tirkit was supposed to have an "underground city". But I wonder, you never hear anything about these stories anymore.
I'll go with shermy's theory - they will end up being missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, but there won't be any warhead.
What if the Coalition just wants to keep this under wraps untill the weapons can be secured?? Think about it, an invitation to the Jihadis "We have nuclear missles and they are located at X".
Just maybe we have to first confirm this with the proper equipment and next move them to a safe place!
I know I know wishfull thinking.....
Shamelessly stolen from the Simpsons episode "Who Shot Mr. Burns".
Bump...
Wishful thinking ? Not really. Over 2 tons of radioactive material was removed from Iraq and not a word of it until it was here in the U.S. under guard.

Same here.
I thought I had lost this thread after reading parts of it yesterday.
Do you have a link for that story? I have been out of the country for three weeks and missed a lot of news (the country I was in does not receive Fox News).
"What? I said the YEAR is 2003! That has nothing to do with time zone!"
The year may well have been showing as 2003 earlier when you made your post, but I just came from the site and the date is July 21, 2004. The story is now on the website.
BTTT!!!
How does yet ANOTHER false alarm help President Bush? If anything, it makes our side look desperate. We all KNOW there were and are WMDs to be found. But if we go hyperactive everytime a half-baked sliver of hyperbole and hearsay is touted by Fox as "Breaking News" [Gong!], and time after time after time it turns out to be nothing, we look silly.
I think we should all, to paraphrase the Gipper, hope but verify.
That's why I, in the words of Prince Humperdink, "skip to the end!"
He was a UN Arms AND Legs Inspector.
So is it true?
Do we know yet?
