He hid the documents in his socks. Geeezzzz, this was not mistaken. "Berger and his lawyer said Monday night he knowingly removed the handwritten notes by placing them in his jacket, pants and socks, and also inadvertently took copies of actual classified documents in a leather portfolio."

I have the same problem. Every night when I get home I have to clean out my socks, they're full of faxes, memos, notes, drawings etc. Really irritating.

Berger's treating classified documents like he treated appetizers at a Georgetown party.
To: joinedafterattack
Isn't The Bergermeister sort of vertically challenged? Maybe Sandra needed the documents to create lifts within his shoes.
Yeah, that's the ticket.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., called the news "surprising" and said that "unless we learn otherwise, I have to assume that what Sandy said was right -- that any removal of documents was inadvertent. But it is serious." Joe, I thought you were the conscience of the Senate.
Joe must be trying to get back in the good graces of the Dems.

THis is the strangest thing because all of the classified docs were copies. Why would somebody take copies?
To: joinedafterattack
OK, I've read he put documents his pocket, down his pants and now in his socks... getting this kind of detail incorrect is a perfect opening for the dark side to say, "see the vast right wing conspiracy jumped the gun on the details and blew something out of proportion." Are we being set up here?

Gergen said he thought that "it is suspicious" that word of the investigation of Berger would emerge just as the Sept. 11 commission is about to release its report How can it be "suspicious"? Berger himself is the one who came forward.

This will become known as "Sock-Gate." Or "BERGER-GATE."

I've been keeping an eye out for the great and horrible SCORNING of Mr. Berger by the mediawhores and let me tell you they are spinning this ratyboy's excuse like NOTHING ever seen! So, there's nothing to see here, move along! Gawd, I whole heartily despise the mediaWHORES!

Couldn't he have just used a microfilm camera? James Bond did better in the '60s.

I just had a veeery disturbing visual:
Berger stuffed them down his pants. OK, where is there the most room to stuff the docs?
Butt cleveage. Yes, I know its early.
Sorry, but those documents are now beyond recovery. They are no good to anyone now.

This has the potential of ending the Democratic party as we know it today. It could give an incredible boost to the Green Party. Oh yeah , forget about Kerry/Edwards--game over.

Question: What's the difference between Clinton and Berger?
Answer: Clinton couldn't keep it in his pants. Berger couldn't keep it out of his pants.

I've also heard of people mistakenly getting steaks hung up in their shorts while visiting the grocery store. Arkadents happen.
