Watergate Revisited....Bergergate

Posted on 07/20/2004 5:18:43 AM PDT by TheOldSchool

Sandy Berger should be prosecuted with the same zeal as the Watergate burglers were over 30 years ago. The investigation should also follow the responsibility trail to where ever it leads. The Watergate investigation lead to the resignation of Richard Nixon. If he acted on the request of Bill Clinton, then the dots should be connected and persued. In any event, this burglery has national security inplications and should be treated as such.

This is treason and should be prosecuted as such. Following to the higher ups is a must. It is also a good campaign issue, and hopefully W will use it.

Berger is acting as a national security advisor to John Kerry.

Trousergate is a better name for associating this with Clinton's legacy.

Dream on ... Berger is a 'Rat ... the liberal media, most notably the Washington Post, was relentless in their pursuit of the truth when it came to Nixon and Watergate. This story will get buried by the end of the week.

It will happen only if the investigation is beyond the Pubbies. The Pubbies wouldn't do anything. They haven't with all the other --gates.

If too much heat arises, the Dems will be calling for a special prosecutor (and they'll probably try to get Benvenista or Gorelick named as the SP).

Wonder whether any documents reviewed by the 9-11 Committee suddenly vanished?

We need to start calling him "Sandy Burglar."

with the same zeal as the Watergate burglers

With more zeal. Watergate was about politics. Bergergate is about National Security. People could die (or may have died) because of this man's thievery and negligence.

Why can't "they"(Clinton staff) just go away, why do "they" keep rearing their ugly crooked lying stealing heads back up? They are like a reoccuring infestation in the "heart and soul" of America.

old story (yesterday), already reported (NYT 16A - even thought it was front page in London), can't we just move on? The former president has far too much important work to do (see Carter).

The scariest part of this is that Sandy Berger, who has wantonly mishandled classified documents and admits to having lost some of them, was

CLINTON'S NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR.

Amazing!

The Clintons run the DNC, no matter what JFKerry thinks and Hillry wants her old job back in her name only.

Steve Doocey on Fox&Friends did about a half hour ago. :)

Brian and E.D. both asked if he said it and he said he "slipped", and "he was thinking about the Hamburglar."

LOL!

Also, who leaked this to the news? The investigation has been going on for months. Why did it show up in the news now?

I figure Berger and his ClintonMafia lawyer leaked it be the first to spin the news cycle and put their story out first in the minds of the same sheeple who worship Kobe Bryant and Scott Peterson.

Forget Clinton, that's history and Clinton always Houdini's his way out anyway. Tactically, it's better to refer to him as The Kerry Campaign's Key Foreign Affairs and Security Advisor. Tie him to Kerry and let 'em sink together like a stone.

There's a new tone in Washington. I doubt if anyone will be held accountable.
