Not a surprise.
Interviewed by Katie Couric who was suited up in her softball uniform, David Gergen blithely dismissed Berger's actions in a featured segment at the top of the Today show, July 20.
Ourtageously, Gergen called the Clintonoid who made off with top secret documents a "hero."
Gergen even suggested that the accusations were politically motivated to stave off criticisms of GWB being generated in an election year.
Little or no mention was made of Berger's post as Kerry's adviser except to say he might have to go on hiatus from the job.
Berger, a former top US gov't official resorted to stuffing secret documents down his pants, like some cheap crook shoplifting underwear at Wal-Mart.
The stolen documents must been extraordinarily incriminating to Berger and the Clintons. He was scared silly somebody would see what was in them, and was determined to remove them.
Stuffing secret documents down your pants like a second-rate shoplifter is the desperate act of a very, very worried individual on the verge of paranoia.
Berger's admissions indicate he must be caught on tape doing the dastardly deed since a Clintonoid has a distinct aversion to admitting to a crime.
It's typical of the Clintonoid spin cycle........ to claim victimhood while committing crimes against the state.
The Today show and other media who downplay this story or try to misapply the blame should be dealt with promptly.

Im waiting for Berger's tag team partner, Maddie HalfBright, to hit the shows today defending him.
Nice work. As far as advertisers go, check back later.
Gergen is such a disgrace--who is he working for?
Our media elite is dangerous to AMerican naitonal security.
My thoughs precisely. Betcha she can't wait to get in there and spin, spin, spin. Come to think of it, Hillary did say Maddie was a pretty good WH laundress (snicker).
a note taken from a top secret document - becomes - a top secret document. No difference. Give it to the enemy and you get shot for treason.
The Pantload's actions were those of a desperate man.
Besides, stuffing secret documents down your pants does not speak well of your character. {{{Shudder}}}, he's a Clintoid. What else should we expect?
Done--thanks for the CNN link, Liz!
Gergen is also scheduled to teach a class at Duke University in Durham, NC.
Email does nothing.

Nobody "inadvertently" stuffs his pants w/secret documents.
As usual... Drudge was the first to report the story. He must be driving the networks nuts. They just cant cover stuff up anymore.

guy on CNN said now there are reports that he was stuffing paperes into his sox.
These cozy sinecures allow them to spend retirement feeling useful as well as to propagandize the next generation in the glories of socialism and liberal corruption.

Wow! The I-Man gets blamed even when he's on vacation. :)
True, and it scares me because I have college-age grandkids. Didn't Donna Shalala and Pat Shroeder become heads of colleges?
"Berger stole the documents because he was trying to cover up embarrassing facts to himself and to Clinton."
I totally disagree. Berger stole the documents at the request of the Clintons so that KERRY's campaign will take a hit. Berger works for Kerry. It is now Kerry's responsibility to tell the media that Berger committed a crime and needs to be prosecuted for it.
Gotta love Hillary.
When Katie and Gergen turned the story to the idea that the "opposition" was touting the story to distract from the 9/11 report, I was outraged.
Then, to add insult to injury, the following story on Today was about Arnold's "girlie man" comments. Katie spent at least 2 to 3 times more time on the Arnold story than on the Berger story. The Arnold piece began with Katie interviewing CA democrats in an attempt to portray Arnold as an out-of-control homophobe who was failing in his promise to pass a budget quickly. To Katie's dismay, the democrat leader of the CA senate wouldn't go along with Katie's attempt to portray Arnold in the worse light possible. Finally, Katie spent the last 15% of the piece with Hugh Hewitt who successfully fielded every one of Katie's loaded comments.
Did anyone else notice that when Katie starts unloading on conservatives and/or Republicans, she gets a demonic look in her eyes?
