Liz, I just sent this e-mail to the Today show:

I'm sure that if Sandy Berger were a Republican you would still dismiss the "inadvertant" theft of documents with an apologetic wave of the hand from the oleaginous David Gergen.

You people are pathetic, and before you conclude "hey, at least he's watching," you should know that I have met my limit. Never again, not if Christ returned for an exclusive two-shot with Katie, not if all four Beatles reunited on your Friday concert series, never will I watch a moment of Today again.

CNN had Jeff Toobin on this morning to basically dismiss the whole incident.

There goes Jeffrey Toobin's credibility. These missing docs were potential evidence for the 9/11 Commission -- where, I might add -- the Clinton Administration was furiously spinning its anti-terror efforts. With these documents gone, all we are left with is the Spin.

Calling NBC, etc. is a waste of time! They cannot keep this bottled up or make it go away. The mainstream media has been beating on GW Bush for months and months and it has not made a dent, other than to lower his poll numbers a bit. This fight, from the GW Bush vantage point, has not yet begun. The American people get their news from other places and sources than the liberal controlled mainstream media. Sending that useless piece of human weakness, David "Girlie Man" Gergen to defend Sandy Berger was a waste of time. Face the facts: Bill Clinton was directly responsible for the deaths of American innocents on 911. His failure to protect the American people and hide the gathering storm clouds of effective information caused much loss of American and foreign lives. And, for what, "POWER"! When the American people wake up they will discover the truth and find that Mr. Clinton and his ilk are traitors to the USA! End of story! Vote for Kerry and get more Americans killed!

Great. That'll singe their polls.

I'm sorry, you lost me there. (re: Jeff Toobin's credibility)

He is allegedly the legal affairs adviser. Destruction of Evidence is a serious thing. If Toobin says this is no big deal he is damaging his profession in an effort to save his political soulmates.

I really only mean to imply Toobin has no credibility.

Everything you posted about Bill Clinton is dead right.

However, when you tell us contacting media is a waste of time, you should offer alternatives.

No, not every media contact will bear fruit. But the totality of it.....when they see all those Berger's as they scroll down their messages.......cannot fail to make an impression.

Berger, a former top US gov't official resorted to stuffing secret documents down his pants, like some cheap crook shoplifting underwear at Wal-Mart.

Dear Liz,

I am a cheap crook shoplifting underwear at Wal-Mart, and on behalf of cheap crooks shoplifting underwear at Wal-Mart everywhere, we object very strongly to being compared to Sandy Berger.

We expect an immediate retraction.

And we'd like 4 pair of colored Fruit of the Loom Boxer/Briefs, please.
Yours,

Laz

Contacting the media made an impression on the Texas paper the other day...they ended up apologizing for their bias....and the media HATE to even discuss the subject.

It was amazing. He just sat there and kind of smirked about how we all have to "take a deep breath" and consider the context and the fact that he might have been taking notes of non-confidential material, blah, blah, blah.

Hey, nice media story. Thanks.

I once got an ultra-liberal newspaper to correct an erroneus editorial.

Whenever Democrats are in power, the crimes they commit are to be answered -- according to them -- with deep-breathing exercizes.

Interviewed by Katie Couric who was suited up in her softball uniform, David Gergen blithely dismissed Berger's actions in a featured segment at the top of the Today show, July 20.

Always thought Gergen was one of these dispassionate political strategists who worked both sides of the street. Since when did he turn into a Klintoon bootlicker.

Dear Cheap Crook,

Please accept this utmost apology for my insensitivity and thoughtlessness for casting aspersions on cheap crooks by comparing them to Pantload Berger.

Where do I go to hang my head in shame?

Cordially,

Liz

Actually turned on Imus, saw he wasn't on but MSNBC was "covering" the Berger story. Literally. The blonde binmbo had on Mike Barnacle (sp?) a journalist who basically said that this story was good for some belly laughs on the Kerry campaign plane and nothing more. Yeah, he indicated that it was no big deal, and in fact thought it was pretty humorous, especially to the media with Kerry.
Ho hum, nothing to see here, just move along. Of course I was screaming at the tv about his belly laugh comment.
