I'll make a decision.
BURN HIM.
Most of the government seems to have coverup of Clinton as its priority.
Remember John Deutsch who ran the CIA and had secret stuff on his home computer that the kids used as well? Berger will probably lose his security clearance which means he won't work in DC again in any meaningful role.
Mr Berger ... handwritten or otherwise, they are "documents"/
Quite right, Mr Berger's notes were "classified, not stamped" documents, (or he wrote in code which will still get him busted). He is in violation of the espionage act, and he doubtless signed a statement to the effect that he understands this act. He will never rat his friends in higher places, but he should do time.
Berger was trying to cover up documents that were embarrassing to him and to Clinton.
Clinton must have inadvertently raped Juanita.
Clinton must have inadvertently lied to the American people.
O.J. must have inadvertently stood still while Nicole and Ron ran into his knife several times.
When I was doing graduate work I worked at a National Archives facility (not in DC). We were reminded constantly of the seriousness of taking anything out of the place (searched at times, though only infrequently), yet Berger "knowingly" (his own word) takes classified documents and there is no consensus that he should be charged. Ludicrous!
He will skate, just like Clinton did. These people should go to the Olympics.
The notes that he made were on index cards, which he put into his pockets (or someplace - it's unclear if it was his pockets or his waistband). The actual documents were, supposedly, in a leather case. It would be pretty hard to just "sweep them up."
But I'd like to know nobody at the Archives could have noticed him slipping out the door with the files. Or perhaps they did, notified the authorities, and just waited to see what was going to happen next. Obviously, if the Archivist marked the second copy, they knew something was going on.
In many archives, you have to leave any writing implements at the desk, and they are returned to you when you return the documents.
IMHO this is a Clinton smoke screen. Berger being investigated for stealing documents relating to 9/11 doesn't help Kerry and Clinton is to slick to get implicated in this.
It also helps Bush by invalidating the report. It is getting too much play in the MSNBC/CNN/AP circles which is something we have not seen yet.
This Berger thing is designed to hurt the Kerry campaign.

You are so right, what is wrong with the rino's ??
My daughter has been bugging the heck out of me to know what I did for all those years. I told her she'd have to wait until I got something like this signed by the highest representatives of both major political parties since their consent seems to be the only thing I'd need to ignore exisiting Federal law.
God Save the Constitution.

They also said no decision has been made on whether Berger should face criminal charges.
Yep
