Don't all these "Massive Explosions" count as weapons of mass destruction? That is what they are doing, and where do they keep getting 1000 pounds of explosives? They were likely left over from Saddam's regime.

Palkot, Fox, reporting 10 dead and 40 injured from an Alawi statement. PM Alawi was AT THE SCENE shortly after the bombing. Palkot says he walks the walk and talks the talk. His office is a short distance from the blast.

There ARE barriers and sand walls. 1000 pounds of explosives in car bomb. Holiday...Republic Day. Symbolic.

Prayers for you son, and many thanks. I believe they said it was all Iraqis, but not sure.

Up at Victory and heard/felt it... thought it was a planned EOD detonation... then I heard later it was a carbomb...

Yeah, we thought it was a controlled detonation, too. Then someone said "Naw, it's outgoing fire." I said "That did not sound like outgoing fire."

The guy who said that's only been here two weeks.

Hope all of our guys are OK. I hate that they kill innocent Iraqis when they do this, though.

I was just going to comment on that myself -- I had lunch with a friend yesterday, who said we haven't found any stockpiles of WMD, blah blah blah...

The car was packed with 1,000 pounds of explosives

Well, if we haven't been able to find every single stash of these thousands of pounds of explosives, why do the nay-sayers think we should have been able to have found a few hundred gallons of Anthrax?

Why do they forget (choose not to admit?) that a "stockpile" of WMD could be in ONE 55-gallon drum buried in someone's yard??

I know, I know... I'm preaching to the choir. Oy.

I wanted to let everyone know that my son is okay. He was doing guard duty 800 meters away and he said it scared everyone and his platoon helped in the clean-up. Your comments helped me get through the night, thank you all.
