today

Okay, I am stumped. I have been having a lot of trouble connecting today. I think it's the phone line. Had the phone company out here and they said all seems fine but they are going to send in the cable team.
Anyway, now that I am actually connected I can't go anywhere but FR
To a lot of you that's not going to be a problem but I need to go other places. What gives? Any of you computer guys/gals out there got any ideas?

Are you connecting to FR via IP address?

I dunno, but I'd hate to have the opposite problem.

,,, where would you like to go today?

I am connecting through my ISP. This is really weird. Every bookmark I try comes up as "not found." I can't even get to Google.

You might give the tech support people at your ISP a ring. It sounds as if perhaps you're not reaching a DNS server and are probably getting to FR through a cached addy. Just a thought.

Did you try going outside? It's a nice place to visit every now and then.

They are closed at this time. You may be right. How is that possible? I have tried using my history files to go to sites I have visited yesterday. Same result.

I'm having a little bit of trouble with the internet tonight. Slow loading, some pages showing as unavailable but loading on the second or third attempt.
Gremlins in the wiring, I guess.

You're either connecting via IP address and not hostname, or you have FR in your hosts file.
