Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., urged the Kerry-Edwards campaign on Sunday to release a controversial videotape of their Thursday night fund-raiser at Radio City Music Hall, where foul-mouthed comedienne Whoopi Goldberg compared President Bush to female genitalia.
"I want the tape from New York," Graham told ABC's "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos. "I want to see the standing ovation they got in New York."
Stephanopoulos, who hadn't planned to discuss the subject, asked the South Carolina Republican to explain. "There was this hatefest in New York, where people who don't mind being called liberal got up and ran President Bush into the ground and applauded these two gentlemen [Kerry and Edwards]," Graham said.
"I want that tape," Graham insisted again, this time with a touch of anger. "And let's see people in Louisiana and South Carolina - let's hear what was said in New York and let's look at the reactions of Edwards and Kerry."
"Let's see if these people really are liberal, or they got values based on the crowd in front of them," he added.
Fellow "This Week" guest Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., defended the Kerry-Edwards raunchfest, saying, "I didn't see the tape ... but I can tell you people all over America, even Lindsey's Republicans, are disappointed in this administration
I read on another thread, that MTV news was apparently showing clips from this event. News Max should find out if they have a complete video.
I want to see these middle American values of which Kerry speaks, that were espoused at this puke fest.
Come on Johnny...SHOW ME!!
I'm curious. If this was a 'public, political event' shouldn't the tape would fall under the Freedom of Information Act?
let's not forget Hanoi John French Kerry was previously overheard calling Bush Administration "biggest bunch of crooks and liars" - so they're lying when they say they don't concur with the thinking espoused at this engagement.
I think any time there is a political fund raiser, the candidate should be required to have the event video taped, live streamed, and the video posted on the web. I want the light shown on the dark souls of the left and the things they say and do during these "public" events.
No. That onoy applies to Dick Cheney's private meetings with energy industry executives.

Congressman Billybob
Curious that Sen. Graham wants this tape. But what has Lindsay done or demanded about all the Dem memos? Those out of the Judiciary? Rockerfeller's that said they intend to blame any and everything they can on GWB?
Lindsay seems to raise his voice only when 'seedy' issues arise. He was way out front on wanting to see those 'worse than bad' Abu Ghraib tapes and photos.
For a brief second there I thought hell had froze over, I thought it was Senator Bob Graham who made the request.
I did the same thing
So if you'd like a taste of what Whoopi has said in the past using "BUSH" in various meanings you can watch her here at the "March for Death" event in April.
The 5th estate is taking the fifth, me thinks.
It seems that anything to do with political fundraising should be available to the public. We have seen videos, pictures and comments for years regarding these extravaganzas. Why is this one different? It must be that one of the other Americas that John Edwards talks about was in attendance.
Go Graham!
Good question. If the "event" fails to meet the requirements for political fund raising, perhaps all donations received should be taxable as a "gift".
You're not alone. I had enough of her during the Oscars telecast when she was introducing Liam Neeson. She was fondling the microphone as if it were a phallic object and as she continued to fondle it and talk about Neeson she appeared to be getting turned on by the prospect of meeting him.
Dah dah da dah. That's entertainment!
