LUCKY THREAD NUMBER:
HOMELAND INSECURITY
Backup electrical systems failed to kick in
A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained six days later.
Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

Roger that
Here, the "victory condition" for the bad guys would be to control the cockpit long enough to arrive at their destination. They will try to minimize this time period, right? A platoon of hijackers and their chemicals would have to accomplish a long list of tasks in order for their victory condition to obtain.
The on-board civilian response alone would have them outnumbered, but the attrition caused by the terrorist's whole chemical and bloody horror schtick may reduce the ratio of fit responders to perhaps two-to-one, perhaps. That will still be enough to thwart the bad guys' plans.
Unless they intend on using timing to force an early landing to somewhere specific.
Subthread stops here.
Roger that. Thanks.

>>>>3:24pm. Just got off the phone with Annie Jacobsen. She has been writing business reports and articles for WomensWallStreet.com and print magazines for the past two years. Recounting the flight, she told me "My legs were like rubber...It was four and a half hours of terror." She is working on a follow-up story for WomensWallStreet.com on Monday and will appear on NBC Nightly News Monday night. I asked how she felt about suspicions that her story had been a hoax. She hadn't heard of these suspicions and instead has been hearing overwhelming corroboration of her experience in thousands of e-mails, many from pilots and flight attendants reporting similar incidents.
Now, let's review a post and report from a fellow freeper to compare:

So logical reasoning would lead one to surmise that an airline takeover would necessitate the incapacitation of all passengers and/or crew.
This puts the rash of emergency/diverted landings in the last few weeks due to smoke or fumes on board in a glaring light.
Also remember the college student who planted stuff on several flights last year AND TOLD AUTHORITIES HE WAS GOING TO DO IT to point out our airline insecurity.
I have also mentioned on several occasions the virtually open access of those who load baggage, USPS mail/parcels, other air freight, and lets not forget SkyChef and the other food services.
She has posted. Just not at TM. Ask her why.
The new "group grope" method of smuggling a device onto an airliner could certainly employ a binary technique. There are many things that could be carried aboard that are harmless when taken individually. There are probably things that are not harmless that are not on the screening list. A plastic bottle of liquid can be left in the pockets of your pants and never set off the magnetometer.

RE: your post on: "Middle Eastern Investors Make Huge Strides into U.S. Real Estate
July 16, 2004
By Amy S. Choi, Associate Editor
Since the events of Sept. 11, 2001, Middle Eastern investors have tried to keep quiet about their real estate purchases in the United States. But although the political climate might make them shun the public spotlight, Middle Eastern buyers are making plenty of noise with their acquisition activity.
