Rapid City is pretty Conservative, and so is Daschle when he's in town.

I suspect, unlike in the primaries, the RATS are not going to be inviting Moore to speak at any campaign events.

Gee, this is a tough one. Which "liar" do you believe? Moore or Daschle? Daschle's excuse for leaving early doesn't quite cut it. There were no Senate votes at midnight the night of the premiere.

From the article:
"I know we senators all tend to look alike. ..." Daschle said.
No Tommy, the only time you tend to look like any of the other senators is when you're standing on a step stool.

He may not show up at a Kerry/Edwards campaign stop, but that's not stopping him from showing up at a ritzy Hollyweird gala to trash Bush.

I believe Daschle. If he hugged Moore, he'd still be stuck in one of the folds.

Which "liar" do you believe? Moore or Daschle? I'm inclinded to believe Daschle - had the little runt actually hugged Moore, he probably would have been sucked into one of the creases underneath Moore's gut and never been seen again.

Daschle denies hugging Moore
There was no hug between "Fahrenheit 9/11" director Michael Moore and Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle at the film's June 23 premiere in Washington, D.C., Daschle said Thursday.
When asked about Moore's account of a hug after the premiere and the criticism Daschle has received for it, the South Dakota Democrat said he and Moore did not embrace. Daschle said his schedule forced him to arrive late and leave early.
"I know we senators all tend to look alike. But I arrived late, and I had to leave early for Senate votes. I didn't meet Mr. Moore," Daschle said.
In a lengthy Time magazine piece about the movie and its political effects, Richard Corliss reported Moore's criticism of Daschle's leadership and the filmmaker's account of a hug with Daschle.
"At the Washington premiere, Moore sat a few rows behind Daschle. Afterward, says Moore, He gave me a hug and said he felt bad and that we were all gonna fight from now on. I thanked him for being a good sport,'" Corliss wrote.
Daschle, who was at the premiere at the invitation of producer/distributor Harvey Weinstein, said he and Moore have never met.

"I know we senators all tend to look alike. But I arrived late, and I had to leave early for Senate votes. I didn't meet Mr. Moore," Daschle said. Several things can be taken from this single sentence, and their veracity are easily checked.
1) I know we senators all tend to look alike.
This means that other senators were in attendance.
2) But I arrived late, and I had to leave early for Senate votes.
Did the other senators in attendance also leave early for senate votes? If no, why was Dashcle the only one to leave early for votes.
Further, lets get the congressional record and see what votes where scheduled for, and conducted on the night the film was shown, and the roll call of the votes cast.

If the media got the hug on videotape, they probably spiked the video.

McAuliffe and a number of other prominent Democrats attended a screening of Moore's new documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11, at the Uptown Theatre in Washington Wednesday night.
In addition to McAuliffe, other Democrats at the Washington screening included Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, Montana Sen. Max Baucus, South Carolina Sen. Ernest Hollings, Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson, New York Rep. Charles Rangel, Washington Rep. Jim McDermott, and others. Harkin told the Associated Press that all Americans should see the film. "It's important for the American people to understand what has gone on before, what led us to this point, and to see it sort of in this unvarnished presentation by Michael Moore."
****It was June 23rd.
deport, can you find out if there was a vote that night in the Senate?? Oxen, can you?

I sent Thune a campaign donation in the hope that he will replace Daschle, whose chronic whine is wearing me out.
