I have Norton and two pop-killer programs, but my Norton can't remove Spyware and activeware on my computer.

Appreciate the info- that's what I vaguely recall too, but since Win2K is already resident, it shouldn't be a problem. MandrakeLinux claims it will dynamically repartition the drive and install a dual boot loader. I cloned both drives, just in case... better safe than sorry.

I have it and it already has blocked 2207 ads. I also have
Norton Firewall. Sort of like double protection. Pop ups
are not only annoying, but really intrusive!

"SPY SWEEPER" from webroot.com serves me well with Norton personal firewall and Norton AV.

Apple's Safari browser also has automatic pop-up blocking, but obviously won't run on a Windows system.

Norton finds:
Dc53.DLL,
ezstub.exe
&
TTIL.exe
but it will NOT delete them.
I use Windows search to find and manually delete and it won't find them.
I have Ad-aware and it won't find or delete them.
Will Spybot? Am a bit wary and weary of loading yet another program and then have all these things running . . . concerned they'll foul each other up at some point.
Suggestions most appreciated.

Thanks for the Google bar info! I've had the bar on my computer for ages and had overlooked their popup block. Thanks! It even keeps track of how many pop-ups it has blocked... I'm up to 5,241.

Go to pest patrol and run their free scan. It will tell you where the bad stuff is...then delete it manually.

The link to the actual video file is in the source code for the web page. I hit "view source" and searched for that link, then copied it to my FR post. Piece of cake.

TBM, my computer geek friend, when he prepped my laptop, put on ALL of the following: SpyBot Search & Detroy, Pest Patrol AND Ad-Aware by Lavasoft. He said that between the three of them, they cover the waterfront with spyware.
And they're all freeware. Also, installing the Google toolbar has pretty much stopped popups on my computer.
Good luck, my FRiend!
