If you will think back to when Kerry announced his bid, he instantly became the darling of the media (JFK, New England, ect.). But then Howie Deano and Barbie Edwards started out polling him, so what did the media do to protect their boy, they destroyed Deano and to a lesser extent Barbie.
Kerry is and has always been the elite media's choice for President and they talk him up and put GW down every chance they get. The problem with this is that Kerry is still Kerry and sooner or later, like at and after the conventions he will have to actually open his mouth and speak instead of letting Katie, Matt, and Kris speak for him. And of course he will then become the same Kerry he was back before the primaries when he was polling close to dead last.
This is the media's choice and they are protecting him, and I sense that the only Dims that will vote for him in the end are the ones who would vote for a tree stump if it were a Democrat, I get the feeling that many Democrats will cross over or just not vote at all come November. After all, there are already rumblings from the black and hispanic groups about how Kerry is not even giving them the time of day.

What is it with Democrats always talking about how "smart" they are?

I'm not as pessimistic about GWB's chances. First of all, a recent poll stated that 40% of Americans had no opinion of Kerry. Of the people who do have an opinion, the majority is negative. This tells me people aren't really paying attention, and won't be until Sept.

The problem for Kerry is that everyone has an opinion of Bush, but only a slight majority have one of Kerry. Once GWB starts running ads exposing Kerry for the liberal he is, Bush's poll numbers will rise. I suspect Rove & crew must have a stockpile of ads just ready to run, but can't right now. It doesn't do much good to run your best ads before people are paying attention.

I know it's painful right now to see GWB poll numbers, but I'm confident the Bush team has several tricks up their sleeves that will deliver the knockout punch. Not to mention decreasing oil prices this summer into the fall, a (hopefully) stable situation in Iraq, an improving economy and reduced unemployment. Catching OBL sometime soon is a definate likelyhood too.

10. There will be less national debate this year about what the agenda of either Bush or Kerry for 2005-2009 will be than any of you can imagine.

We DO know Kerry's agenda involves bending over for the French and the UN...

Hopefully, Dubya will exploit this fact in the debate.

That is a good point considering that Kerry said he would pick the VP candidate early so he/she could slam Bush W also way ahead of time. What is really strange is that I have never heard of the VP being selected before the convention. It is being pushed hard like it is normal, and everyone seems to forget history.

Kitty Kelly has been talking with Neil Bush's ex wife about the Bush inside info, like Barbara Bush really being a tyrant witch, etc. Ex wife has ax to grind because her ex was a bit sleazy. Since "Bar",and George HW Bush are very popular,it will only get traction with the usual Bush haters. Kitty Kelly is not known for real sources or getting her facts straight. She claimed in one book that Nancy Reagan and "ole blue eyes" were lovers while she was married to Ronald Reagan. Nobody on planet earth believed it or much of anything that old tart writes.

Read (most)the whole thing, and it looks like a mixed bag. Lib presstitutes say the expected, but the entire (series of )articles is riddled with inconsistensies, doubts and ridiculousities.

Yawn!

I've seen reports that Kitty Kelly (or perhaps some other anti-Bush rumor-monger) plans to spread a story that one of GWB's girlfriends, back in his Yale student days, had an abortion...of course for them it doesn't matter if there is any truth to the story or not, but if they time it right they could deter a few million pro-life voters from voting for Bush, just like the DUI story in 2000 came out a few days before the election and changed an easy Bush victory into a cliffhanger which almost allowed Gore to steal the election.

That might be their best hope of victory, short of disastrous foreign news or a major terror attack in the US.

I noticed that also. Talk about diffusion filter. She looked like hell and her medium shot camera had a thick filter for sure.
