Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

Addressing a Democratic fund-raiser yesterday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., told wealthy supporters the government will need to take money away from them for the "common good."

Clinton headlined an appearance with other women Democratic senators in San Francisco, where donors gave as much as $10,000 to California Sen. Barbara Boxer's campaign.

"Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Clinton said, according to the Associated Press. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you.

"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Christine Iverson told WorldNetDaily that Americans should take careful note of Clinton's remarks.

"This is John Kerry's Democratic party," she said. "Small-business owners and taxpayers all across America should be very, very concerned."

Kerry and Clinton, Iverson said, are people who "believe the government knows how to spend your own money better than you do."

Iverson acknowledged Clinton's use of the term "common good" was telling, evoking the language of Karl Marx, who envisioned a society that distributes wealth "from each according to ability, to each according to need."

In her book, "Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton," the late author Barbara Olson wrote, in Clinton's "formative years, Marxism was a very important part of her ideology."

Olson described the senator growing up as a "budding Leninist" who "understood the Leninist concept of acquiring, accumulating and maintaining political power at any cost."

The Washington, D.C.-based Americans for Tax Reform responded to Clinton's remarks, saying, "When it comes to tax policy, liberal politicians often try to hide their true colors."

"There you have it: Hillary Clinton, the soul of the Democratic Party, talking about taxpayers’ money like it's hers," said Americans for Tax Reform head Grover Norquist. "What insufferable arrogance – it's as though our taxes are hers to spend!"

Hillary will live to regret those words. IMO, without massive voter fraud, she is unelectable.

In his recent interview on Fresh Air, the Disbarred Lawyer ranted that his tax break was too much, he didn't want it, and that none of the millionares he knew ("and I know quite a few") wanted it either.

He didn't mention how much of his tax break had been sent back to the Treasury or to a charity, or how many of his "quite a few" millionaire friends had disposed of theirs, or why they didn't pool their unwanted tax breaks to create or support some charitable endeavor.

I suspect the answers are all "zero."

John, penalizing the productive is never a good idea.

This sort of quasi-Marxist rhetoric may resonate with some pressure groups, but most Americans want to get ahead, and do better, and they instictively know that giving more of their hard-earned money into the endlessly hungry maw of government is not going to improve their lot in life.

It's like the Lotto in my state- every time I ride by the billboard ( rented at taxpayer expense ) that loudly crows

"____ more million in the Lottery!"

... I always mutter, "great, that's ___ more million less people have to spend on their own families..."

Her honesty about my money is too much.

Reminds me of the movie Finding Nemo where the seagulls are yelling out "Mine" "Mine" "Mine" ...

No it's not YOUR MONEY Hillary!!

Hillary has another massive health insurance scheme definitely up her evil sleeve, after the rat party trial lawyers complete their current destruction of the world's best medical system.

But she has overplayed her hand. She is toast. BUH BYE, you loser weasel.

Hey Hillary, forget about taking my money. Take my car and go to Fort Marcy Park........ for the common good. Oh that's right....... you don't need a car to get there.

Totally agree. She stepped in it this time. That will come back to haunt her. We all know she is a communist/socialist, but many Americans are clueless. This statement should help expose the "woman" eventually.

Of course the Clinton's are not real communists and do not wish for such a system on the U.S. They are making too much money off capitalism to want to see it destroyed. What they are are free-market parasites. Spouting leftist phrases and ideology gets them votes and support among the ignorati and the idlers who represent a large part of the population. These people would much rather have you make the money and then take it from you. They're closer to Jesse James than they are to Karl Marx.

Incidentally Shrillary was merely echoing what her partner in crime Slick Willy said to a common citizen in a speech he gave in Buffalo right after the Affaire Lewinsky broke. After the speech some citizen asked Clinton if he was going to cut taxes. The Slick One said that he'd like to cut taxes, but he didn't think that the people would spend it wisely. That statement epitomized the whole arrogant attitude of big government towards the common tax-paying citizen. In short they are saying that "it's not your money, it's ours...and we'll spend it any way we deem proper. SO SHUT UP AND KEEP PAYING THOSE EXCESSIVE TAXES YOU MISERABLE LITTLE TAXPAYING WORM!!!"
