OPERATION BIAS CHECK -- The NYC chapter of ProtestWarrior decided to send the mainstream media a message. In true ProtestWarrior style, they crashed the June 29th "Today Show" - and while Matt Lauer charmed the crowd with his musings on the new Spiderman release, the NYC chapter's message came out loud and clear. Stand in the line with a perfectly innocuous sign that says:
BUT the bottom half [the "we love you" part] is simply covering up a hinged-with-tape-at bottom 'drop-down' half that cleverly hides the words
Is that a great idea or what?
I do hope that I've explained it clearly enough, and I'm sure others at PW, etc can come up with other sneaky "stealth" signs that can easily make it past any NBC "line monitors" until 'the moment of truth' when the camera pans to you.

As I replied to the other NBC PW thread, yes, one indeed needs to get creative to get past network "line monitors". But hey, PW types are nothing but truely creative types, right?.
Here's what I suggested:
Get in line with a sign that says something totally innocuous like
BUT the bottom half [the "we love you" part] is merely hiding a drop-down, hinged-at-the-bottom-with-tape part that reveals: [ta da!]
Great huh? I'm sure other Freepers at PW, etc can come up with ingenious ways to get our message past any so-called "security" at NBC, CNN etc.
I just might even start watching The Today Show again!

Watch the video again. Apparently NBC posts 2 goons along the rail behind the primary closeup shot to try and avoid or quickly deal with any disruptions. That sign wasn't dropped, the goons knocked it down. Watch the pighead on the left, he tries to pull another sign in front of it, then he maneuvers and twists the sign out of her hands, then knocks it to the ground, all while maintaining a phony smile on his face. Later in the video also note how the goon on the right tries to hold up an "I Love New York" tshirt in front of the remaining background sign.
It is possible those were just 2 big young guys who just happened to be liberal, just happened to have an "I love New York" tshirt(not exactly the hippest thing for a 20-something male to buy), and were able to watch themselves on a monitor behind the camera, my guess is that they are NBC security goons.
Amazing how long and in how many shots the signs were, that's about the funniest thing I've seen in a long, long time.
