Just had a break on KOA radio saying that a US soldier, captured a month or two ago, has been executed (shot).
That's all they said.

THe Italian man was shot. The one who wanted his blind fold removed. I'm glad i'm not president. I'd be like a madman right now wanting lots of blood to flow in retribution.

If it was PFC Matt Maupin, then here are some additional articles about him........
Articles
|
Pfc. Keith Matthew Maupin was declared missing after an April 9 convoy attack near Baghdad. One week later, his image was flashed around the world in a videotape showing an American soldier surrounded by five men holding automatic rifles.
|
|
Youngsters adopt Pfc. Maupin Shortly after her son was sent to Iraq, Carolyn Maupin got in touch with Matt Maupin's fourth-grade teacher at Willowville Elementary School. Would you mind, she asked Pam Branham, having your fourth-graders write letters to Matt? Maupin never got the letters. |
|
Maupins address 'Taste' crowd Memorial Day is the day America set aside to remember the soldiers of wars past and present. Many in the Tri-state took time to pray for Private First Class Matt Maupin, the Clermont County soldier that has been held hostage in Iraq since April 9.
|
|
Maupin: iron will, soft heart The world knows two images of Matt Maupin. One is his military photograph, his demeanor seeming to say he's tough as any soldier. The other is the video of an unshaven young soldier in a military hat. But those close to him see different, and more lasting, images. |

You might be right - maybe another group? You actually have to be a pretty sick puppy to cut off somebody's head even if the cuttee is already dead.

It's a warcrime to treat a prisoner of war this way. When will the global outrage be broadcast?
P.S. Michael Moore has said that these people we are fighting are not terrorists. He needs to be held to that claim.

If true it is probably PFC. Maupin. He is in our prayers constantly. Prayers continue and for his family and friends too.

He wasn't "executed" he was MURDERED!Most strongly agree, and wish these News Jackals in the press would quit playing semantic tricks like this.
It's past time to take off the gloves and hammer these medieval savages until they scream in their sleep when dreaming of America.
Enough is enough.

Something about putting moores name on the same page as a hero's makes me want to puke.

I prefer to believe that they shot him (if indeed he is dead and he was shot) because he was fighting and resisting, refusing to meekly accept the knife.
I will believe this until further evidence proves otherwise.

"Wait, why wasn't he allowed to file for a writ of habeas corpus in Federal Court? I thought the Supreme Court required that."
No, that's what we're allowing them to do. Why? Because we're better human beings than these murdering bastards. It takes courage to keep our position, and it takes utter cowardice and barbarity to take theirs'. Let's keep that in mind when we look to make new policy in the WOT.
(yes, I know you were being sarcastic, but I needed to ignore that to make my point)

That report has been circulating. It hasn't been confirmed yet.
alJazeera says they have the video but haven't shown it due to the 'festivities' in Iraq.
Currently, it seems to be speculative; but we can probably expect the worst.

Most probably. If so I am sorry that I didn't search well enough first, but it just came across here as "breaking news"!

My heart goes out to the parents. I can't imagine the grief they go through, it must be unbearable. At the same time, they should be so proud that their son has given his life for freedom's sake.
