The Clinton administration talked about firm evidence linking Saddam Hussein's regime to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network years before President Bush made the same statements.
The issue arose again this month after the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States reported there was no "collaborative relationship" between the old Iraqi regime and bin Laden.

Indeed. It's too bad, however, that liberals haven't yet invented a Digital Idiot filter for themselves.
It looks like we're engaged in a battle of semantics. What does it mean to be "linked"? What does it mean to have a "collaborative relationship"? If Saddam's govt. met with Al Qaeda but never agreed to work together what does that mean?
Does the U.S. have a collaborative relationship with terrorists since we have links to Saudi Arabia which has funded Al Qaeda?
FoxNews was showing archive video of Gore in 1992 bitching that Bush Sr. wasn't doing enough against al-Qaeda, who was operating with in Iraq with their cooperation. Al Gore stepped into it big time and the attempted media blackout isn't working. The NYT was reporting this on their front page this morning, which is a huge happy surprise to me. Maybe they're starting to get the message.
