Michael Moore Fahrenheit 9/11 Truth Flyer! Hand them out at movie theaters!
Moorewatch.com ^ | Thursday, June 24, 2004 | Lee & Jim at Moorewatch.com

Posted on 06/24/2004 11:45:48 AM PDT by Luke Brinkley

A week ago I published an open letter to Move America Forward, where I disagreed with their campaign to get theaters to opt out of showing F911. One of the suggestions that came up during the subsequent discussion was that someone could make a flyer for people to hand out outside theaters. We here at MOOREWATCH think this is a great idea, and have made this flyer. You can download the flyer here. Note that the URL at the bottom of the flyer has not gone live yet, but will tomorrow.

We’d like to spread the word about this as much as possible. So please, tell everyone you know. If you’re a blogger, link to it. And send an email to Move America Forward and ask them to let their members know about it. While we had a public disagreement over their F911 boycott, ultimately we’re on the same side.

Again, download the flyer here

Personally, I think we should all boycott any theater that shows this movie for as long as they carry this movie, and let the theaters know.

I'm going to write a letter to the theater I usually go to and explain to them why I won't be seeing them for a while. I am going to list the movies I was planning to go see there so they'll know (there are several that are coming out over the next several weekends that I had planned on seeing).

Not only will the theater chains feel the pinch, but so will the makers of the other movies. We need to make this traitor persona non-grata even in Hollywood. We need to make sure he never again finds a distributor for his movies outside of France.

Newsflash: Clarke admits he authorized flights for Bin Laden family on ABC tonight....

Bump for good news:

Both ABC and NBC issued reality checks on the movie this evening...both good pieces of journalism that were fair and balanced....in fact, I would say slightly negative toward the movie if not more so.

First up: Lisa Myers of NBC. She critiqued about 4 main points of the movie (and both NBC and ABC did not mention anything about the scene where Bush finished reading to the kids instead of running from the room and running people over like George in Seinfeld, which apparently is what Michael Moore believed he should have done). The reporters, unlike Moore, found nothing odd about Bush staying calm in the face of a crisis. Anyway, Myers also mentioned how Moore ambushed senators about having their kids go to the war in Iraq. But, way to go Myers because she mentioned the fact that Moore edited the responses to make them seem worse (particularly that one congressmen who spoke out and said Moore simply left his response out that he has kids in Iraq). Myers also scoffed at the Bush-Bin Laden connection and "laziness" of Bush regarding terrorism and the Bin Laden families flying out; Myers said that the govt. only approved people to fly out who were not wanted for questioning by the FBI, so that claims of favoritism was exaggerated. Myers concludes her report by cautioning that Moore's "excesses and distortions" clouds his message.

Next, ABC's Dan Harris did a report questioning the integrity of the movie. And....this was pretty awesome...he used Richard Clarke to rip on Michael Moore. This is no doubt because Clarke is the terrorism expert for ABC, and a reporter under deadline will go to the easiest expert source. However, it is significant because, as Harris noted, Moore uses Clarke in the movie as some vindicator for his views. Clarke himself is used in the ABC report to repudiate this claim. Harris, in the voiceover for his report, pretty unambiguously stated that Clarke himself "green-lighted the flights [of the Bin Laden family]," something ignored in Moore's film. Clarke is then quoted on camera as stating that the family did not pose a danger, thus explaining his action and that Bush was not trying to cover anything up unlike what Moore claims. Clarke then rips Moore on his mention of Bush supporting Bin Laden via business and family relationships. All in all, very balanced report for a news organization tied to Disney and the makers of Moore's film. It even is more scathing than Myers' report, which was just fair and balanced. The Harris piece is biased against Moore even, IMO. He concludes with an interesting analogy that I forgot, but it basically means not to expect a fair analysis of the facts from Moore.

Nice to see some decent journalism on Moore's film. It must be REALLY awful for the mainstream media to be tearing it to shreds.

Let's thank these reporters. I could only find an e-mail for Lisa directly at Rumor Mill News: lisa.myers@nbc.com

Use with caution, and if it does not get through, save your message for the general NBC e-mail.

Here is NBC Nightly News e-mail: Nightly@nbc.com

For ABC and Dan Harris, try: http://abcnews.go.com/sections/wnt/WorldNewsTonight/WNT_newemail_form.html

You also, according to Rumor Mill News, can contact Dan Harris directly at: dan.harris@abc.com Again, be cautious in case the direct e-mails do not work.

Your server is down......maybe too much traffic or a hacker trying to stop the truth about Moore Lies?

Please ping me when it is working as I want to print & distribute the flyers.

robertpaulsen: Exactly. I was looking for a listing of innacuracies, similar to those on sites analyzing Bowling for Columbine. If F911 is that bad, that deceitful, there should be no problem with listing say, the "Top 10 Lies in Fahrenheit 9/11 to Look For", or something like that. I'd hand out something like that.

First, I want to make it clear that I am not the author of this entry. I was asked by Lee at Moorewatch.com to post about this flyer on Free Republic. The above entry was from a post from his site.

Second, Fahrenheit 9/11 was released to the public at large today. Michael Moore has refused to send screeners of the film out for review, and will not release a full transcript of the film. Lee has said he is going to catch F9/11 tomorrow, so watch for his critique on Moorewatch.com. Richard Bushnell of bowlingfortruth.com has also said he will be adding a section dedicated to Fahrenheit 9/11.

Michael Moore has a long history in lies and I don't think pointing out a few examples in a flyer hurts anything. As of right now, the most scathing review was from Christopher Hitchens (a liberal) which you can read here.

Jim (a co-author of Moorewatch.com) said there was a "catastrophic failure of the database" at Moore Watch. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'll email Lee and ask him if he has a back-up of the flyer.

Be very careful in the way you go about passing out fliers in and around theaters...protesting a Mickey Moore-On film is not a reason to get arrested.

you happened to be wrong on the pipeline: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/1984459.stm
It doesn't mean we fought for the pipeline but you say that they are no plans to build one.

The Chris Hitchens article was amazing! I can't believe anyone takes Moore seriously.

Sometimes a simple image is worth a 1000 words. Mr. Bush worked the line, shook Mr. Faulkner’s hand and then proceeded until Linda Prince spoke up. “This girl lost her mother on 9/11,” Prince told the president. With that proclamation the president changed from the leader of the free world to a father and a husband. According to Mr. Faulkner, “The president’s entire expression transformed and he turned and came back against the flow and his eyes locked on Ashley’s.” The president took the time to talk to Mr. Faulkner’s daughter Ashley and give her a warm hug.

I_killed_kenny: you happened to be wrong on the pipeline: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/1984459.stm It doesn't mean we fought for the pipeline but you say that they are no plans to build one.

If you look at the date on the article, you’ll see that it’s from May 13, 2002. On May 20, 2002, Unocal issued the following press release.

Unocal: Unocal Chairman Charles R. Williamson told Unocal stockholders today that Unocal has no plans or interest in becoming involved in any projects in Afghanistan, including natural gas or crude oil pipelines. He made the statement in response to recent erroneous news reports about Unocal and the pipeline project in Afghanistan.
Michael Moore, again, is a lier and a misleader! Leni Riefenstahl would be so proud.

Friday, 27 December, 2002, 11:23 GMT "Central Asia pipeline deal signed"
BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/2608713.stm
(there's a picture of Karzai at the ceremony)

An agreement has been signed in the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, paving the way for construction of a gas pipeline from the Central Asian republic through Afghanistan to Pakistan.

The project has been around for some years
The building of the trans-Afghanistan pipeline has been under discussion for some years but plans have been held up by Afghanistan's unstable political situation.

This follows a summit meeting bringing together the presidents of the three countries last May when the project received formal go-ahead.

The pipeline would represent the first major foreign investment in Afghanistan in many years.

Alternate route

With improved regional security after the fall of the Taleban about a year ago, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan have decided to push ahead with plans for the ambitious 1,500-kilometre-long gas pipeline.

Pakistan will be the terminus for the pipeline
The leaders of the three countries have now signed a framework agreement defining the legal aspects of setting up a consortium to build and operate the pipeline.

The trans-Afghanistan pipeline would export Turkmen gas via Afghanistan to Pakistani ports, from where it could reach world markets.

India is the largest potential buyer and the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, said Delhi was welcome to join the project.

Turkmenistan has some of the world's greatest reserves of natural gas, but still relies on tightly controlled Russian pipelines to export it.

Ashgabat has long been desperate to find an alternative export route.

Wary investors

Afghanistan would profit by receiving millions of dollars in transit fees and construction of the pipeline would provide thousands of desperately needed jobs.

It is also hoped such a project would boost regional economic ties and pave the way for further foreign investment.

The chief difficulty will be actually finding the money to build the pipeline.

The Asian Development Bank is carrying out a study for the project.

But investors will be very cautious about putting serious money into Afghanistan when the central government in Kabul still has only limited influence in the regions the pipeline would cross.

I never said Unocal was. Michael mentioned that the Unocal wanted and it was true. The fact that they said that they didn't want to anymore, means that they considered it. On the flyer it says that as of this posting no pipeline has been built and, there are no plans for one. That's factually wrong; read the flyer yourself. We have so much true things to counter it with and putting falsehoods only hurts the cause, because it makes MM look credible.

Your correct, and I agree that Lee should change it until we can get more up-to date (2003-2004) info.

Don't get me wrong, I thank you for pointing out these articles. I have emailed Lee with each of them.
