Parents Beware: Shrek 2 Features Transgenderism and Crossdressing Themes

Summary: The DreamWorks' animated film, "Shrek 2," is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages.

Parents who are thinking about taking their children to see "Shrek 2", may wish to consider the following: The movie features a male-to-female transgender (in transition) as an evil bartender. The character has a five o'clock shadow, wears a dress and has female breasts. It is clear that he is a she-male. His voice is that of talk show host Larry King.

During a dance scene at the end of the movie, this transgendered man expresses sexual desire for Prince Charming, jumps on him, and both tumble to the floor.

In another scene in the movie, Shrek and Donkey need to be rescued from a dungeon where they are chained against the wall. The rescue is conducted by pinnochio who is asked to lie so his nose will grow long enough for one of the smaller cartoon characters to use it as a bridge to reach Shrek and Donkey. Donkey encourages him to lie about something and suggetsts he lie about wearing women's underwear. When he denies wearing women's underwear, his nose begins to grow.

An earlier scene in the movie features a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing and reading a book when Prince Charming encounters him. Later, one of the characters refers to the wolf's gender confusion.

TVC's report "A gender Identity Disorder Goes Mainstream" explains the transgender agenda and the effort to deconstruct the biological reality of male and female. DreamWorks is helping in this effort by promoting cross dressing and transgenderism in this animated film.

What about pinnochio lying about not wearing womens underwear?

Please address that.

Please, somebody.

Yes I wear underwear, though probably not the gender-confused kind that you wear.

The truth comes out at last!

Yeah, I saw Shrek 2, and the Pinnocio panties laughs were a little too far.

But, all in all, it was a very enjoyable movie that I have little problem recommending to anyone for taking the whole family. My kids, aged 4 to 9, all went.

I could care less what you have to say about me. If I can awrn one parent aboout having to hear pinnochio lie about not wearing womens underwear and the sick message that sends to kids then it was worth it.

Better to make myself into a fool and with it the hope of chnging back than to be born a fool as you were, with no hope in sight.

What truth comes out at last? That I wear underwear appropriate for my gender, or the gender confused kind that you wear.

Probably both are true. At least I know the first part is true, concerning me. There no telling what you wear.

Now that is the truth...come out at last.

Unless they're totally brain-dead, they'll laugh at you. They really will.

Save yourself the hassle.

You know that I meant womens underwear.

You're so obsessed with cross-dressing, I wasn't sure. That's why I asked.

Yes I wear underwear, though probably not the gender-confused kind that you wear.

What on earth is "gender-confused underwear"?

You know too much about this stuff. I'm beginning to wonder......

He failed to make a comparison and so have you.

I don't care to, Free Market. I believe that if you want to warn other consumers against the danger of this movie, you have every right to.

But people will overlook such absurd ramblings and see the movie anyway because it's light-hearted and fun... which is what people want. And if I become inclined to have a sex change immediately after seeing this movie then I am an automaton without any real morals or individuality and probably deserve to screw up my life. If my hypothetical kids decide to have sex change operations after seeing this movie then I am hypothetically doing a rotten job of raising them.

Surely one who claims to be 'laissez-faire' would understand its meaning. That is, 'hands off'. That is, you have no business to parent someone else's child.

Don't worry about all the sicknesses that fictitious characters have. President Bush has a program for diagnosing and treating that. I read it on another thread. It must be so. Fictitious characters need treatment.

I took all 4 of my kids (8-17) and they loved the movie. My boys aren't wearing thongs nor are they crossdressing. As a matter of fact their notions of both behaviors as being bad were reinforced. Pinnochio was a pansy wimpy lil thing and the stepsister as masculine was just plain ole' butt ugly.

That is, you have no business to parent someone else's child.

In fairness, he isn't trying to parent other people's children, not in any anti-market way. To do so, he would have to lobby the government to make a restriction upon movies with possible transexual imagery. He isn't. He is simply trying to warn people that this perceived transexual imagery exists...

It doesn't make this perceived danger any less absurd, but it certainly doesn't make LFC's post anti-market.

He crossed the line from absurd to inexcusable when he accused mhking of allowing transgender behavior in his home.

Boys or even men wearing mens underewear is sick behavior..behavior that needs help to be gotten rid of.

How are we expect our children to grow up to be chaste and moral when men are out there wearing men's underwear?

It's a sick world gone mad.

I've seen all the Bugs Bunny cartoons and there's no comparison. Bugs Bunny was in no way offering transgender or cross-dressing in the same light as it was portrayed in Shrek 2.
