Conservatives Irked Over Bush-Clinton Lovefest
Newsmax ^ | 6/15/04

Posted on 06/15/2004 9:25:09 AM PDT by areafiftyone

President Bush certainly didn't score any points with his conservative base on Monday when he praised Bill Clinton to the hilt during the unveiling of the impeached president's White House portrait.

"President Bush was more laudatory and more passionate about Bill Clinton than he was about President Reagan [during Friday's memorial service]," contended nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage Monday night.

When Bush spoke about Reagan, said Savage, "we got empty homilies. We got less than empty homilies - we got a Mr. Rogers job."

But at the Clinton portrait ceremony, Savage said, "Today we actually got a passionate President Bush. He was almost animated to be around Bill Clinton. The guy looked happy."

Though the Bush-Clinton lovefest left many of the president's fans fuming, Mr. Clinton's obvious enjoyment of Bush's kind words also raised eyebrows inside Sen. John Kerry presidential campaign, which only 24-hours earlier had been assured that Clinton would come out swinging this week against the White House.

"Maybe [Bush and Clinton] have a mutual interest in a Democrat not winning this November," said MSNBC host Chris Matthews, noting that a Kerry loss would pave the way for Mrs. Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.

Please reference the post number where I called anyone an Injun on this thread.

Good heavens, now you sound like Bill Clinton.

Did I SAY you called someone an "Injun" "on this thread"? (Though I believe you used the word in one context or another on this thread.) Does it matter if it's on this thread or on past threads? You still made reference (to someone you know is an Indian) to "firewater", to attempt to insult him.

What the hell is wrong with you?

It's called context. Look into it. (This twist, spin, and obfuscate routine of yours isn't as clever as you think it is.)

You, however, have engaged in unjustified racial stereotyping.

I haven't done it, but I'm curious as to when you think it would be justified.
When would it be justified to racially stereotype someone?

"I paraphrase, but she was over the top"

she was right. The Pres. very politely said a lot of nothing about Clinton.

Regards,

Oddly enough I was in the process of getting knocked off the internet, and thus I couldn't add more or come back to add more.

No parent that behaves the way Bill Clinton does and is as corrupted as Bill Clinton is, can be a good parent. The most important responsibility a parent has, is to teach right from wrong. Bill Clinton does not have the ability to see right from wrong, let alone instruct others about it. Therefore, he cannot pass this kind of instruction along to his offspring and he therefore is incapable of being a good father.

Lots of corrupt people, have done some good things in their lives.

Excuse me? I have a great deal of respect for the military. I have a great deal of respect for Ronald Reagan who is beyond question one of my top five heroes of all time. It doesn't mean that the military, or people in the military or Ronald Reagan haven't done things which I thought were wrong or even harmful. In fact, all of my heroes, save Jesus Christ, have done things that I was openly critical of. It doesn't mean I love and respect them any less.

Nice try, but you are NOT going to pin that kind of mantra on me.

Something can just be unjustified, you know. All by itself. Duh.

And yes, you've "done it".

Yes, here it is.

Some people either don't realize or don't care that saying, "Hey Injun, you hitting the firewater again?"

W could have toned down his rhetoric and his enthusiastic tone and still have remained gracious.

However, he was rather in a sticky wicket and while I am a bit disappointed in him, I can't get too outraged and upset at him in this particular case..

ROTFL - now I know you realize you're beaten.

You've tried 'em all, haven't you? The "PC", "liberal" stuff, the personal insults about my appearance and age, twisting words and taking stuff out of context - and now, the ever-predictable, "Don't talk to me anymore. I win!"

What a "man". Getting his butt kicked by an "Injun" and a younger (than you, anyway) woman.

Practice, practice, practice, Protagoras. LOL

No denying, it was a tough spot.

But was it unavoidable? Did The Nameless One host a similar event for GHW Bush?

But then, lying for him is like breathing for you and me, only more effortless.

don't know. You tell me. You're the expert at it.

No,,,I didn't say it, you did. You used the term "unjustified" racial profiling. Now if it can be unjustified, it can be justified. Please explain when that would be ok. Because I don't think it is, but you do, so please explain.

You couldn't possibly be that stupid (could you?), so I'll assume you're just up to your usual twisting and manipulating words and their context.

YAWN.

"You couldn't possibly be that stupid (could you?),"

LOL, more preference?
