By the third day I had everything down pat. By the fourth day I missed work.

LOL....I knew someone like that. He had an extremely high level job and did great, but when his wife took off for a few days out of town to go to a funeral or something, and he had to take the of the kids, oh, what a disaster. :)

Well, I found it odd they were more concerned with homosexual marriage than how dads relate to their kids. But maybe they are promoting only a portion of their questions, and they think the homosexual marriage will get them more attention for their survey. I don't know. I'm just guessing.

I deal with a lot of undergraduates. The young men are very clear - when they get married they want a wife with a professional career. Who knows what they're going to want when they're 35 or 40. But for now most feel strongly they want their wives to have a high paying professional career. (emphasis on high paying)

And that puts a lot of pressure on women, especially those women who go into careers like teaching. You feel like you're never going to earn enough.

Bravo! I admit I get a very nice meal when I get home but the house is not cleaned as it should be and the kids are not up to their homework. The phone however is usually warm from overuse.

Yes, but it's not about the extra income or the big toys. It's insurance against alimony and community property divisions........when it's ALL their property.

While the VAST majority of women would preserve no-fault divorce and community property laws, they would also have us marry, let them stay home.....and divorce whenever they wish for whatever reason they wish.

I advise all young men to avoid marriage and the siring of children unless they're REALLY sure about the woman, and she's gainfully employed.

My idea is better: I'll stay home, cook, clean, raise the kids, run errands all day...she works...and I'll give her sex every night upon her arrival back home:)

That is just it. It was not a disaster. All my sister's friends thought they would be called in to help out. It was just not necessary. They were surprised, although I don't know why. When my sister and brother-in-law came home we had a nice tete a tete. I told my brother-in-law in private, that he is lucky. I would not appreciate the benefits of staying at home like my wonderful sister does.

Actually I think what you named is just more in the same category of "toys" or more accurately, material goods. I would bet against the long term prospects of a marriage where the preservation of property was the guiding factor in a marriage decision. Men and women both do this I know... it's not a good trend.
