Columbus is a wonderful city, I live a little south of there. I wouldn't consider "Cowtown" an insult, but a badge of honor. C-Bus has always had the touch of small town in a big city atmosphere.
To know that we are now a target of such a heinous terrorist threat should make everyone wake up and smell the coffee. If "Cowtown, USA" is threatened, who's next?

BTW, I'm from Worthington ... I would move back to C-Bus in a heartbeat if I could talk my wife into it.

My associates and I have been discussing for some time exactly your thoughts. I have envisioned 10-20 suicide bombers in malls detonating simultaneously in cities across the nation, not necessary the biggest cities. What do you suppose that would do to our economy? Yes, they would prove that no one is safe anywhere. We are in a world not envisioned in our youth.

How hard would it be to drive a truck bomb into the large entrance of your typical mall?
It would be very easy but cost them a lot of explosives. I believe they could do more economic damage by spreading out smaller explosions in more places. That, of course, takes a lot of planning.
And multiple attacks over several weeks.
I don't know why I got hooked on following the Somali's in Maine. I guess since we are the second poorest state in the nation, it really goaded my arze when Senator (now Maine's Governor), brought in all those immigrants.
I'm all for helping people out, but I think charity begins at home. We have a lot of poor people in Maine that could use the money first.
I had no idea how many Somali's there are in the United States until today. They have lived very quiet until Ashcroft's Press Conference.
Are we to keep our eyes out for the Somali's that live here now as well?
And guess what? I believe that the minute they landed in Maine, they were taken by the hands and registered to vote DemocRAT. How much do you want to bet! There had to something in this for someone other then "charity."
What Somali would want to live in this climate if there wasn't something really "good" in it for them?! There is a chipmunk in the woodpile somewhere!

I live in po-dunk Kansas.
In our little town of 25,000 we have a meat packing plant, small industries, a state university and a brand new shiny mosque / Islamic Center across the street from the state university.
They give classes in Arabic, Koranic Studies and the Sharya?.
Some evenings you'll see flocks of the "international students" ranging from 18-45 years old going over there. Most of the guys look normal, drive very nice cars, (seem to prefer brand new mitsubishi's, There are always a couple parked there of various colors....daddy's oil money I guess...hehe)
some of the women wear scarfs, but some of the women have started to wear the full-on bedsheet outfits....I'm starting to see them in the stores more and more. I think someone issued an order....
Rumor mill says the new Mosque / Islamic Outreach Center was built by a local Saudi immigrant who came here in the late 80's to open a pizza business.
Why you would leave Saudi Arabi and move to the middle of Kansas to sell pizza I have no idea. But thats the story.
The Saudis supposedly helped him get here and have helped him set up a mosque to take care of all the muslim students that are coming.
That's the word on the street.

Oh, and by the way, this town I live in is 30 minutes down the highway from the Wolf Creek, Kansas's only Nuclear power plant...Stay Safe!
I had a few friends that used to live on that street. One was plagued by a persistent "Peeping Tom" and was burglarized a few times. Not the most wonderful of neighborhoods.
And my other friends fit right in on that street.
Used to spend a fair amount of time socializing at the Apartment Lounge around the corner from that little apartment city around the Union Cemetary.
