I am now sobbing for your in your pain. I'm almost 60 too, and have suffered losses and tragedies, but what I've been seeing this past week is that love and hope will always prevail, and that no one ever dies as long as they live on in our hearts.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you for your losses. The fact that you are finding consolation in what we've been experiencing this week will help you through.

Why are Republicans so respectful to the individual and the Democrats so mean to them.Remove the political context & you have the beginning of wisdom.

I do feel pity for them. I wish they wouldn't vote though.

Only the RATS have turned the funeral into a political problem.
IMHO I don't think it will make Pres. Bush & co. over confident. But I think the effect it will have is to get the Republican voters off their couch to go vote in numbers they haven't since Reagan was in office.
Chris Wallace doesn't get it. He seems amazed at the continued popularity of President Reagan. He's been in a vaccum if he doesn't realize that since his last day in office Republicans have NEVER stopped singing the praises of or showing admiration for Pres. Ronald Reagan.

I still feel like Jerry will walk through the door and tell me it was all a dream and he is still here for me. That happens to me from time to time, and it's been 22 years.

When my husband died - he'd been a race car driver and always had every one of our personal cars pinstriped - my son & I decided to have his casket pinstriped and a huge fleur-de-lis painted on the top. The funeral director was speechless but went along with it. We also brought our own music (Al made me promise to play certain songs at his funeral).

Yes, those days are gone, but my mother, who will be 80 this year, is not up on current events.
I did get her to switch to Fox News on her cable, which she likes (I think because it isn't depressing). Hopefully, she will gradually change her mind.

W4T .....my parents had the kind of love like Ron and Nancy. In fact, my dad reminded me alot of Reagan. He had the same qualities and adored my mother, as she did him. And as far as accepting it, it takes a long time. I just did accept it a year or so ago, but I will never get over it. The word closure does not exist for me. I got comfort from reading books on life after death. And be patient - Jerry might not be able to walk thru the door, but he will walk thru your dreams. Thank you for your kindness. :)

Earlier this evening, Chris Matthews asked an interesting question, Why are Republicans so respectful to the individual and the Democrats so mean to them Well I'll give him credit for noticing
Unfortunately, it's sad that he can't figure it out for himself
