She has me on that list of envious women that's for sure.
Did you see the article about his wife?
I'll find the link if not. She escorted Laura.
I can imagine that it was an emotional time for MG Jackman as well.
He would have been a 2nd Lieutenant at the tail end of the Carter dismantling of the military and come up through the ranks during the Reagan build up.
Hard to see the man that brought the military back to where it should be...being laid to rest.
MG Jackman...IMHO...displayed all the qualities of an "officer and a gentleman" this week.
Then you are my age. Unfortunately, for me, at 30 I was not too politically aware and still didn't listen to my parents' advice concerning politics. I'm not sure I voted that year but I do remember voting for Reagan in 1986.

Thank you for the verses - but I'm crying out loud again. :)
An image, upper left, of the late former U.S. President Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) is displayed at Safeco Field in Seattle during the seventh-inning stretch of a game between the Montreal Expos (news) and the Seattle Mariners (news), Friday, June 11, 2004, as Expos Brad Wilkerson (6) and Tony Batista (news) (7) look on. After reading this comment, I popped on CBS for about twenty seconds. Dan Rather and some hump were discussing how Reagan was the consumate performer as president, selling his ideas with the right gesture or the right inflection - as if his ideas were some sort of 1890s huxters phoney cure-all elixer.
Effing pukewads. (I am currently respecting FR posting guidelines in type, but not in yelling at my television.)
The events of the past week, especially the outpouring of love and respect from the American people, is the most moving thing I have ever experienced. Thanks to all who posted the wonderful photos. I hope someone eventually produces a RWR Tribute DVD including all of the footage from the past week. God bless Ronald and Nancy Reagan.
SSSHHH!!!
This is supposed to be a secret, remember?
I was wondering the same thing. I have a feeling the slab is like the false floor in a computer room and you can just pull the tiles up to reveal the crypt.
So he was in town on Thursday huh??
The most surprising thing to me is that he has only been on the job for a year. It looked like he had been practicing for this assignment for a decade. I can see Nancy thinking of Ronnie in way because Jackman is a big man with big shoulders and someone she could depend on to help her through this . Look at the picture above where he has both hands around her.
I noticed when she was coming down the airplane stairs in california he gripped the rail with his other hand. I dont know if he had done that before but it almost looked liked he was afraid she was about to falter and he might need something to help steady him.
Just a wonderful job.
I wouldn't be surprised. It is comforting to know that I am part of the 0.068 to 0.082% of Americans who were able to pay their final respects to this great man.
The respect for Reagan baffles the media. How I love that.
And thank you too - I thought I was done crying but Taps and the MMF have got me bawling again.
I didn't see her. I wondered immediately why he needed to go to CA for the viewing since he was obviously back in D.C. for the service. Everyone in the media said it wasn't a photo-op -- now he would have a hard time using the pictures after all of that I would think. But then Lurch is not known for having class!
Yes! Shawn Southwicke, Mrs. Larry King.
By God, sir, you hit it!
He was MY President! And damn any man who slanders his name. Or woman, for that matter.
