It was just reported that Nancy Reagan has been interviewed, or commented to the news wires that the out pouring of sympathy and show of respect by the tens of thousands that continue to show up at the Presidential Library is unbelievable.

I just heard this on CNN, and did not catch exactly who she was speaking with. But we did just hear it. I didn't hear every thing that may have been said by the reporter but maybe someone else has a more complete report of what was commented on by Nancy Reagan.
I thought others may be interested in hearing this.

I heard it; you got it almost word for word.
I got the impression from several reporters that this has taken the family completely by surprise.

I got the impression from several reporters that this has taken the family completely by surprise. That was sort of what my "surprised" post was about last night.

You known, after ten years of taking care of this man that was out of the public spotlight, I wonder if she thought some of us forgot.
We will never forget.

Amen!
I just hope that this outpouring of love and respect is helping to give Nancy strength and courage for the days ahead. My heart just breaks for her. As great as our pain is, I can't imagine how deep her grief must be. May the Lord bless her and keep her under the very shadow of his wings!

I just hope that that 125,000 people in Washington is a teeny bit higher....say......700,000 or so.

God bless her, I am glad the public helped her feel better at this time.
That is very nice to hear.

I am surprised that they would be surprised.
I kind of feel sorry for Michael, since he seems a bit excluded in those family pics.
I wonder if Jane Wyman will come to the funeral?

The Left Coast did its part.. final numbers was 106,000 at the library, and it would basically have been physically impossible for any more to come in the time alloted.
Your turn now...

I hate to say this but when two people that have had the relationship they had and one dies the other soon follows.

I went up to Simi Valley last night to pay my respects. It was a very, very, very long wait but definitely worth it.
Nancy seems quite touched at the turnout. I am proud to have played a very small part in that.

I wonder if she thought some of us forgot. It's a measure of how heavy this burden has been for Nancy this last decade, and how lonely it has been for her to carry it pretty much by herself.
To: ambrose
We don't know that he was excluded. He grieved in his own personal way. Just because he was quiet doesn't mean he was excluded.
To: Texasforever
Fortunately, I think Nancy will be different because she has rebuilt her relationship with her kids, and has much work she can do to help make in the Reagan library and other ways to solidify his legacy.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I thought Jane Wyman passed away in 1991.
I know Maureen Reagan passed away.
