Fortunately I don't see any of President Reagan's casket in the Kerry photos.
The character of Senator Kerry is well known.
Despite his stated feelings toward Reagan, I do not begrudge anyone the opportunity to participate.
I could even overlook cutting in line, though I have more respect for those that wait with the people.
Where I draw issue is with Senator Kerry and the MSM is on their attempts to capitalize on Reagan's death. If they had a shade of decency they would understand this is wrong. The public would be more supportive of a respectful low key presence from adversaries.
Instead we have:
1) Kerry's response to Reagan's death being equated of same/more import than that of Margaret Thatcher.
2) A camera crew photographing his visit.
3) A hasty exit with a thumbs up.
4) A catty comment that Reagan spared him more attention (he says) than President Bush. In spite of claims he suspended his campaign.
5) His own website supporting vitriol toward President Reagan.
6) Accusations that President Bush will use this to elevate his campaign even though he has shown no signs of an intention to do so. Nor would he, as he and Reagan both know the definition of character.
While expected this conduct above is what angers me. They aren't going to distract me from honoring Reagan's memory, though. Their attempts to spin this off his memory into a Wellstone blitz will fail. Reagan will command center stage at his events, not those seeking to use his name for gain.

Kerry is the antichrist!!

"Per Britt Hume, Fox News, Nancy Pelosi is *itching about not being able to speak at President Reagan's Memorial!"
What kind of despartion makes people expose such low character?
What in the world could move klinton and pelosi to make public their desire for face time at President Reagan's memorial??
What kind of low life would attempt to turn Ronald Reagan's memorial service into a partisan event by making such a degrading and sickening fuss, pretending they have some RIGHT to speak at the memorial of Nancy Reagan's HUSBAND and our PRESIDENT?
Are they so afraid of the nation hearing our President and his father and the people who LOVED RONALD REAGAN that they would actually attempt to make this absolutely outrageous demand for face time at a FUNERAL>>>????
This is STUNNING!
But just like President Reagan, don't cha know, to continue to EXPOSE and DEFEAT the enemy, even after death!
By the way.......GOOD FOR NANCY REAGAN!
I don't think this woman is ANYBODY's FOOL!

It should be remembered, we are all American's, even those walking down different political paths. In times like this, the disrespectful and insolent will place their political agendas on top of a dead president's memorial. Rest assured, they will be illuminated for what they are. Out of respect, the wise will quietly watch and remember.
Ok Carville.
Why call yourself a Republican if you excuse Kerry's use of Reagan's dead body for political purposes? You need to wake up!!
If I were anymore awake, the pain of this political in fighting and tit for tat would kill me.
Slow down cowboy and read my post. I didn't excuse him for anything.

I saw that Tom......who is going to whine next.
Amazing, isn't it. The leftists/liberals didn't want anything to do with President Reagan when he was still breathing. Now, they want to be present all over the place. [Who says a politician doesn't recognize a good photo-op when they see one.] First BClinton whines about now being asked to speak Friday, and now Pelosi whining because she hasn't been asked to speak tomorrow.

Good Grief ! Thousands upon thousands of everyday people stand in line in a hot, shadeless parking lot for hours to get on a bus to the library, then stand in line to view the casket, and then back in line again for the bus back to their cars. For some people that has translated to 9 or 10 hours out of their day. Traffic is backed up in places for 5 miles but Kerry sashshayes up in his limo,
with his film crew in tow, goes to the head of the line, makes the sign of the cross for the cameras, then he is outta there but not without giving a thumbs up to the working press from the back seat of his limo on the way to his private jet.
Now ask yourself, why did he think it necessary to intrude on the viewing in Simi Valley when within 72 hrs he will be an invtited guest at 2 official events of the state funeral in DC ? Did he think his being there mattered to Mrs Reagan, or the mourners he inconvienced at the library or Republicans in general ? No ! He did not care. He went there for a photo op, to give Peter, Tom and Dan a lead story for their evening broadcast and for some upcoming campaign ad.

Huffington was priceless.
Political opportunism of Kerry's magnitude only backfires - it will anger the leftist who are becoming more aware that they are stuck with him and the middle will see it as crass and commercial. The rest of us know that it is all of the above!
Still waiting for the stealth candidate to make her appearance as Kerry continues to make a fool of himself. Kerry might have been able to pull it off had he not brought the cameraman and the thoughtless thumbs up when leaving a funeral.
It made me recoil wondering if Kerry meant: "thumbs up, Reagan's dead"
To: longtermmemmory
Maybe a little hyperbolic, but Kerry is a Sh*t!! That's the reality of it, Kerry is a sh*t.

How can this swine meet with the President when he hasn't spent the last 18 months in Washington? Is President Bush supposed to run around the country trying to set up a meeting with Lurch
Logic, decency and facts have nothing to do with Leftists.Sort of like holy water on a vampire.

Fortunately I don't see any of President Reagan's casket in the Kerry photos.
That's because it (the photo op) wasn't about President Reagan; it was about John Kerry. Very choreographed. No casket, no need to get permission from the family. [I'm speculating on that last part.]

Yup, with time for the nightly news. You are so damn good!
This guy is a blantant phony. He must take us all for absolute fools!!
To: BlessedByLiberty
Yep-it was a 'Thumb's up, Reagans dead"
Or perhaps it was a thank you to the lap dog liberal press corp, who share kerry's lack of character, and like kerry, are delighted that such a photo-op was made...even if Nancy was never consulted. Crass
Or perhaps it was a 'thumbs up, thank God I got this icky bit of business over with....now where is my hair dresser, anyone got a breath mint, scotch?'
To: All
So the bottom line is that this was a mistake for kerry. Was it a Dukakis tank moment? probably not because the media will not allow it.
It MIGHT hit the pundit shows, Rush will discuss it, Hanity will cover it, and Laura Ingram will expose it HOWEVER it will not break his candidacy.
darn.
