Controversy develops over Reagan funeral speakers...

CLINTON DISAPPOINTMENT: LEFT OFF FUNERAL SPEAKERS LIST
Former President Bill Clinton has privately expressed anger he has apparently been left off the speakers list of Friday's Reagan State Funeral, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
"President Clinton really held out all hope the funeral would be a nonpartisan event, like Nixon's was," a top Clinton source said on Tuesday morning. "He's angry and disappointed neither he nor President Carter have been asked to speak, as of yet."
The top source says Clinton has been critical that both Bush presidents will address the crowd gathered at National Cathedral.
Nixon's vice president Gerald Ford did not speak at Nixon's funeral.
Clinton's inner circle is convinced Nancy Reagan has personally shut out Clinton from any high-profile participation.
"It is a state funeral, using tax dollars," the top Clinton insider explained.
Former President George H.W. Bush, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney will join President Bush in eulogizing Ronald Reagan, Reagan's office announced. Presiding over the service will be former Sen. John Danforth of Missouri, who is an ordained Episcopal priest. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and the Rabbi Harold Kusher will give readings, while Irish tenor Ronan Tynan will sing.
The eulogy is being prepared by President Bush's chief speechwriter, Michael Gerson, who also wrote the president's moving speech for a memorial service in the same cathedral after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

:) I get very tired of good people on this forum making excuses for the inexcusable behavior of Bill Clinton.
LOL!!!! Thanks!
Neil Cavuto just showed Kerry at President Reagan's casket. The line going by it was stopped, and the people who had waited for hours were silent. So he DID cut in the line in front of "the little people".
As ex-President, Clintoon will have a role at the funeral, if nothing else, just to stand and sit when he's supposed to. He'll have to walk a half step behind GWB. I wonder how he'll handle that? He'll definetly make a spectacle of himself somehow. Not being the center of attention and all! The order of importance at the funeral will be Ronald Reagan himself, then Mrs. Reagan, the Reagan family, then Pres Bush. So that puts Clintoon in 5th place at most. He wont stand for it!
You're right about that. Can you imagine the gall of this moron to tell reporters that he has met Reagan more often than President Bush has???? That's not political???
Find it really irritating with some of the excuses I have been seeing myself. You handled it perfectly!
I am at the point where everything the RATS do is disgusting to me. It will only get worse.
Kerry met Ronald Reagan in a restaurant in NY and he told Kerry he was secretly hoping he'd be president?
Agree with you that he will pull some type of stunt -- cannot help but be the center of attention. I think he is going to be way back with the peanut farmer.
THAT IS SICK!!! SILLY!!!! Can't you just see a little pouty arrogant spoiled baby whining, " But....but......I saw him the MOST'"
Geeeeez. Kerry is an ass. (But then, the icon of the DNC really IS an ASS. And I know the meaning of the word 'is'!)
Clinton will still probably steal all the limelight by showing up with his fly open and/or toilet paper trailing out the back of his trousers.
Thanks for the ping, I am totally unsurprised at this narcissistic display. Nancy Reagan has more class in her little fingernail than Clinton, Carter or the RATS combined. And the world knows it too.
Which is why Clintoon is bawling....

Take your meds first ... and then read post 911
If the situation were reversed and a former Republican president were acting this way, I would be embarressed, and would not hesitate to say so. Are there any Dems feeling a little red-faced over this?
UN resolution just passed unanimously.
For one thing, as I've said twice already here, Carter told the press he had nothing to say about Reagan and wouldn't be releasing a statement.
For another, people who love Reagan already don't care what the alphabets and CNN think.
And lastely, if the DNC wants Clintonistas to take up Slick's cause instead of concentrating on electing Kerry, great!
Judy Woodruff opened her show at 1:05 pactific saying the same thing. Kerry met with Reagan FAR MORE TIMES than Bush. Is that enough to make you vomit or what.
OMG! Great news....was Kerry's camera crew there, too?!
I'm surprised he didn't flip them the bird or call them a sonofa*itch
