FReepers, I spoke a short time ago with Dio. She and BobJ are on the road in the FReeper motorhome and heading for Moorpark College. Bring posters with you. See you there!
If you would like to set up a candlelight vigil/memorial service for the President -- go to www.reagavigil.com and organize on in your hometown!
That's just plain rude.
It's the one which good Freepers BobJ and Diotima were able to rent:
1) After much negotiating,
2) At the last possible moment,
3) Despite what sounded like an impossible feat, and most importantly,
4) With their own personal finances/ hard-earned cash.
BobJ and Diotima did this so that all so that Freepers who could, would have a general meeting place in a very crowded parking lot, after a very lengthy drive in traffic to get there.
Freegards and thanks to BobJ and Diotima!
thank you! I am coming from work and various errands. I am fortunate enough to live close by (20 mins and I know some back ways!) But I am not dressing up. The fact that people want to pay their respects is what counts.
He's the Holy Diver, so shaddap about it.
I saw a bit of it the other day. A bit too much poofy hair for my tastes, but it was a good show.
Alright alright, I'll go home and change and put a suit on! Enough already ;-)
You'll be able to recognize me, I'll be one of the only one's there like that.
I was going to wear my United We Stand flag shirt, but Reagan deserves a bit of inconvience on my part.
I just think Reagan was so dignified and he deserves proper attire at his wake.
Nancy was very well attired and she may not have felt like dressing up.
I must say, Patti could have done more in the dressing up area for today.
That is what inclined me to agree with you, a story I heard the past couple days that Reagan never took his coat off in the White House after Nancy had told him it didn't look right. She was very impressed by proper attire, it was one of the main reasons she wanted Jim Baker-he was such a good dresser.
Normally I might find this behavior odd, but my Mom is EXACTLY the same way so I understand.
doug, we're going to try to get there tomorrow morning, leaving here 7-8 a.m. Is there a really long wait time? How's the traffic?
The sad thing is most of those people don't mean to be disrespectful. They just don't know any better.
You guys are incredible.
Oh, you betcha she's a she and there ain't no mistaken her for a he.
MAN Dio was on VH-1 100 metal moment
Rack itt
So FR two main posters are going to Tour stop near Reagan library Rack it
Youz guys are awesome, thanks again;-)
One More Tribute

Here's a report from Moorpark.
We got there at 8:45 pm. We went the back way so traffic wasn't so bad. Took about l/2 hour to get in the parking lot. Took us about 15 minutes to walk to the end of the line. There are literally thousands and thousands of people lined up to see him and this is 10:00 at night. We waited in line for 1.25 hours. I asked a police man his estimate for our wait - he said anywhere from three to six hours more. There aren't enough facilities to accomodate all these people, no water, etc. We left because we can come back and pay our respects once he is buried. As we left we saw tons of people streaming in and a solid line of headlights on the freeway.
People, if you are planning on attending - bring plenty of water and if you come during the day, you will be in the sun - there isn't any shade.
I don't think wearing fancy clothes is appropriate - especially heels. Coat and tie could be pretty stifling if during the daytime.
Never did see the FReeperBus but did run into Merry10 and PeoplesRepublicofLA.
The Red Cross had water. Thanks goodness it was overcast all day.
Just FReeping awesome work. Thank you!
