Nick Berg: Michael Moore's secret cameraman?
Michael Moore, Salon.com

Posted on 05/28/2004 8:42:49 PM PDT by Objective Reality

Please pardon the vanity, but I've not seen this theory posited elsewhere in any searches I've performed.

First the admission from Michael Moore that he interviewed Nick Berg prior to his trip to Iraq. Why, in God's name, if Berg was just some foolhardy "mercenary" (as Moore calls Americans in Iraq in general)?

Then, with the slightest amount of further investigation, this post from Moore himself, on his own website. Note, very well, the date.

Quoting:

"I currently have two cameramen/reporters doing work for me in Iraq for my movie (unbeknownst to the Army). They are talking to soldiers and gathering the true sentiment about what is really going on."

Rather explains why Berg would have refused safe passage home from the military, doesn't it?

I therefore theorize that Michael Moore commissioned Nick Berg to act as his proxy / cameraman in Iraq with the stated goal of meeting and interviewing the "minutemen" of the "revolution," thereby directly leading Berg to his own murder, and making Moore himself more culpable than any member of the Bush administration in that murder.

If Moore has an interview with "pro-war-Bush-supporter" Berg, as is claimed, this should be very easy for him to deny.

Let him do so.

"Berg was PRO-WAR." Is there any proof of this?

Yep, his dad said so. And you wouldn't expect the ultra left wing liberal dad to lie, would you?

Here's a peculiar something else to throw into the mix;

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1144330/posts Click Here.

The part I found the strange was;

In Iraq, Berg partnered with an ex-Philadelphia Iraqi expatriate who'd been convicted in a Russian-exile crack-vial ring before becoming the highly visible leader of an anti-Saddam Hussein group backed by the Bush administration.

There seems to be a lot more to NB than initially meets the eye.

Contacting Nick Bergs family & offering them the last videos of their son would have been a nice thing to do. I don't see Moore as a nice person doing anything for that reason. It would not have helped Moore in any way.

It would be very interesting should our military intelligence supoena Michael Moore for that footage, to see what Michael Moore's reaction would be. I think Moore has committed treason and should be executed as such!

Don't know if anybody has thought of this angle.

But weren't two supsects in Nick Berg's murder arrested in Iraq. Maybe they told Iraqi investigators something about Moore and Nick Berg, and after their arrests the revelation of Nick Berg's interview with Moore.

Any way that fact of some of the suspects arrest should be included in the timeline as well as the date of the Salon article which revealed the interview of Berg by moore.

FWIW, if you have done any video encoding, one of the really annoying things is sometimes the video and audio get out of synch, with the audio usually lagging. I've had this happen many many times. That could easily be the explination of the problem with that video. Some of the other points, such as an apparent lack of arterial bleeding from the cuts are harder to explain.

Again: Moore has ample capacity to prove this not to be the case. He need only release this interview. And one way or another, he is going to do so - either willingly, or under subpoena in a federal investigation of a felony murder.

A word of caution here. If the interview was a nothing, it could easily be turned into an opportunity to reap propaganda about a Facist Bush trying to silence a brave critic, yada yada yada. I don't want that fat pig Moore turned into a media martyr.

You are right. It's very possible.

"(CBS/AP) 5/21/04
Iraqi police detained four people in the killing of American Nicholas Berg and believe a nephew of Saddam Hussein was involved in Berg's beheading, an Iraqi security official said Friday.

Two of the detainees were subsequently released.

At least some of the suspects were former members of Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen paramilitary organization, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. They were arrested May 14 in a house in Salaheddin province, north of Baghdad. The province includes Tikrit, Saddam's hometown.

The group that was involved in the killing of Berg was led by Yasser al-Sabawi, a nephew of Saddam Hussein, the security official said. He said American intelligence had asked Iraqi authorities to hand over the suspects, but they were still in Iraqi hands.

Al-Sabawi was not among those arrested, the Iraqi official said."

The Russian soldier getting his head cut off is wincing, gagging, and he is not moving too much, either, it may be just that he gave up and let themselves be killed in an impossible situation.

I wonder what it's like when you know they're going to cut off your head, I think it would be the latter --- you'd just be praying for all you're worth and trying to not think about what they're doing. Fighting at that point --- they've got your arms bound and all isn't going to do you much good.

Did anyone actually recover Berg's body? I've been pretty much out of the news loop.

JNo, not encoding, you have to see the video, there is maybe a 5 second lapse between the actual cutting and the screaming, plus all the other actions are in synch with the sounds with maybe 1/4 of a second lapse if any

Interesting theory...definitely a lot of unanswered questions relative to Berg.

Note from Moore:

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win."

He deserves to be shunned by America. He is a shameful opportunist.

I can't help but thinking that moore would not be above getting berg decapitated so that he could use his footage. I really must start making heavier tin foil hats.

Why not? These spineless liberals always like to send the little people in to do their dastardly deeds and then let them take the fall.

I'm just saying that his emails seem very straight forward.

You're right. Berg comes across as simply a nice guy in his emails. Makes me think that MM's interview with him is likely to contain the same sort of innocent and friendly attitude, which is why Moore wouldn't want to include it in his mockumentary.
