Please pardon the vanity, but I've not seen this theory posited elsewhere in any searches I've performed.
First the admission from Michael Moore that he interviewed Nick Berg prior to his trip to Iraq. Why, in God's name, if Berg was just some foolhardy "mercenary" (as Moore calls Americans in Iraq in general)?
Then, with the slightest amount of further investigation, this post from Moore himself, on his own website. Note, very well, the date.
Quoting:
"I currently have two cameramen/reporters doing work for me in Iraq for my movie (unbeknownst to the Army). They are talking to soldiers and gathering the true sentiment about what is really going on."
Rather explains why Berg would have refused safe passage home from the military, doesn't it?
I therefore theorize that Michael Moore commissioned Nick Berg to act as his proxy / cameraman in Iraq with the stated goal of meeting and interviewing the "minutemen" of the "revolution," thereby directly leading Berg to his own murder, and making Moore himself more culpable than any member of the Bush administration in that murder.
If Moore has an interview with "pro-war-Bush-supporter" Berg, as is claimed, this should be very easy for him to deny.
Let him do so.

To begin with,no member of the Bush administration was responsible for his murder.
I know you do not believe this yourself,and you just wrote that to illustrate the point that those charges have been levelled,and are ridiculous.
Your scenario sounds very plausible, I'm not one who is particularily given to conspiracy theories, but it does not seem as insane as most I have heard.

That's basically what I think too. If all of this is on the level, I can't see how Moore would have known who Berg even was, let alone spent the time to get 20 minutes worth of film footage on him.
I have seen the video, the short and long version.
I have a theory myself.
The Screaming you hear is well before they start cutting his head off, and, it appears it is NOT from Berg.
In fact, Berg does not seem to fight at all!
I wonder if he fell for the 70 virgins lie, and went down voluntarily as a Martyr, to be used as a pawn, williingly and intentionally killed, but made to look like a murder in retaliation for Abu Grhaib?
He would be a secret Martyr to the world, but in his sick mind, a martyr none the less.
Even though two people are sitting on his back, I thought there would be more struggling.
The Russian soldier getting his head cut off is wincing, gagging, and he is not moving too much, either, it may be just that he gave up and let themselves be killed in an impossible situation.
I would hope I went down either screaming the Marine Corps hymn as they fought to kill me, or, go down singing hymns to the Lord Jesus Christ.

ABSOLUTELY Correct. The people responsible for Berg's murder were those who cut his head off while he screamed - all of whom should be hunted down and either summarily executed, like rabid voles, or literally burned at a stake, have no doubt - AND the International A.N.S.W.E.R. fanatics who motivated and backed this ill-advised, ultimately fatal mission of his.
Why not tell us the date and its significance?
It seems that he typically has 2 stories. One for the press and one for the fringe element who support his website. They usually get totally different stories.
Not the same story twice (with 2 perspectives), there are things he just does not discuss in both places.
I don't think this was his cameraman. I also don't think that Michael got enough from Berg's comments to advance his agenda. Also, the inclusion of Berg's comments would also beg for Moore to address the kidnapping and murder of Nick Berg.
I think the strange route out of Iraq was in order to meet the "minutemen" of the Iraqi "REVOLUTION" (as Moore and International A.N.S.W.E.R. refer to them), ostensibly for an interview. This was Nick Berg's final mistake.
Race, I believe Nick was already dead at the time of the beheading. There was some apparent editing toward the end of the tape. As fas as Nick being MM's man in Iraq, that could very well be possible, he was, according to his dad, his murderers best friend they could ever have.
O'Reilly is going to have Moore on his show, as a guest. E-mail O'Reilly and ask him to ask Moore about the Berg interview.

Peter Guzli has been in all kinds of pictures across the net. It was a cool joke for awhile, until I found one of my own vaction pictures on the net with this guy in it. I almost fell out of my chair. LOL
The murder video appears to have been shot with 2 cameras (with different time stamps).
Was Nick Berg castrated/genitally mutilated? If so, that could account for the screams you hear before his neck has been cut.
I will throw my hat in with the rest of the conspiracy theorist....
One wonders if the Nick Berg appeared in Moore's film before Michael Berg's name appeared on FreeRepublic.... hmmm, whos fault is this.... REALLY!?
To paraphrase a classic line from the movie Casablanca, out of the 275 million people in the US, michael moore interviews Nick Berg.
That right there begs moore to explain the connection to Berg.
