Don't know if anybody has thought of this angle.

But weren't two supsects in Nick Berg's murder arrested in Iraq. Maybe they told Iraqi investigators something about Moore and Nick Berg, and after their arrests the revelation of Nick Berg's interview with Moore.

Any way that fact of some of the suspects arrest should be included in the timeline as well as the date of the Salon article which revealed the interview of Berg by moore.

You are right. It's very possible.

"(CBS/AP) 5/21/04
Iraqi police detained four people in the killing of American Nicholas Berg and believe a nephew of Saddam Hussein was involved in Berg's beheading, an Iraqi security official said Friday.

Two of the detainees were subsequently released.

At least some of the suspects were former members of Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen paramilitary organization, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. They were arrested May 14 in a house in Salaheddin province, north of Baghdad. The province includes Tikrit, Saddam's hometown.

The group that was involved in the killing of Berg was led by Yasser al-Sabawi, a nephew of Saddam Hussein, the security official said. He said American intelligence had asked Iraqi authorities to hand over the suspects, but they were still in Iraqi hands.

Al-Sabawi was not among those arrested, the Iraqi official said."
